sweatdrop Posted December 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2019 Just wanted to ask anyone who recently went on the Imagination if there were any problems or advice for using Carnival's off-site parking at the Long Beach convention center. Received the notice back in November for our upcoming cruise that we can't use the port parking and wanted to know how the off site parking is. Thanks for the help!

Why can you not park in the parking structure at the port?

Construction. They are adding to the parking structure for additional parking to support the larger passenger load for the Panorama. The notice back in November saying that Carnival's off-site parking will be at the Long Beach convention center Mid December through October.
sweatdrop Posted December 27, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted December 27, 2019 Going in January. As VentureMan_2000 posted, Carnival sent notification back in November for those who booked the Imagination. And based off a prior thread as well as family who went on the Inspiration, it seems to affect those who booked the Imagination. Seeing how there isn't much on the boards about parking problems and this topic has been up for several days, guessing I shouldn't worry about it too much.
DestineyFish Posted December 27, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 27, 2019 (edited) It was great, the shuttle picked us up and they made handling our luggage super easy! Their free shuttles run throughout the day. We had a big van and were only charged $60 for 4 days 😄 Edited December 27, 2019 by DestineyFish
SadieN Posted December 27, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2019 Parking will be charged to your onboard account. Friends only got charged for their first of their b2b cruises.

I just parked in the structure. The attendants said they block it off for Imagination and Inspiration. Parking in the structure is for Panorama only.

They are adding to both the front and back of the structure. heckledtrio Posted January 9, 2020 #13 Share Posted January 9, 2020 Interesting... we sailed the Panorama Dec 21-28 and there were no signs indicating restricted parking. No attendants upon entry, either, but perhaps we sailed before they started enforcing it? We simply drove in as we normally do when we sail out of Long Beach. Expensive, though-- they've raised rates to $23/day! 😞 😞 Manageable for a 3-or-4 day cruise on Imagination/Inspiration, but for the 7-day? Ouch! Would definitely be interested in looking at off-site parking options in future...
CCLcruiser91 Posted January 9, 2020 #14 Share Posted January 9, 2020 This is what I was told - "The parking structure is closed on Thursdays and Sundays for construction."
CCLcruiser91 Posted January 10, 2020 #15 Share Posted January 10, 2020 Parked in the parking structure today 1/10/20 and I could not believe how empty it was at 11am. Must be because of the Imagination cruisers not be able to park... Nice for Panorama/ Inspiration cruisers!

Is their signage directing you to the correct parking area and pickup point for Carnival passengers ? Was planning on using the parking structure at the port, but someone said it's $23/day now ! $15/day is much better. 🙂 Mapquest makes the journey to the Long Beach Convention Center very simple plus I've been there several times.
