Canuker Posted January 3, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2020 Is anyone aware of a public domain spreadsheet (or similar device) that helps with planning a budget for a cruise vacation?

I'm not aware of one but on a cruise some of the ways to spend money are- alcohol/drinks, excursions, specialty dining, souvenirs (onboard or in port), gratuities (added in by the cruise line, extra ashore), spa services, photographs, food and transportation to and from the port, lodging before or after the cruise. On many lines some of these things can be paid for before you cruise, such as buying an alcohol package, a dining package, excursions, pre-paying the main gratuities. This gives you a bit more control over when you spend your money and allows you to spread it out before the cruise.

cb at sea Posted February 11, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2020 If this is your 1st cruise, you can expect to spend about 1/2 of the cost of the cruise on the "extras"....the more you cruise, the less you are likely to spend in things like excursions, photos, souvenirs, ect...
