Medications on Board

3 year old information but our friend had IV antibiotics administered daily for 5 days for an infected gallbladder that was diagnosed in Copenhagen.  Thankfully Viking allowed him to continue the cruise.  The hospital charged him nothing for a day filled with cardiac workup, CAT scans and blood work.

As an aside ...I had a history of gallstones too so we both had our gallbladders removed before our World Cruise....really did not want surgery in most of the places on the itinerary!!!

What kind of medications are stocked in the on board medical facility?  Antibiotics, allergic reactions, gastro-intestine?

Tayana -

I would seriously suggest that you contact Viking directly regarding this, as it seems important to you and others.  I would not take anyone's word for it (i.e. past passengers) as things could change.   I had the "opportunity" to visit the medical area on Deck A forward on our cruise, and it certainly seemed they had quite a bit of things.  However, only Viking would be able to help anyone out for their specific situations.    Let us know if you hear from them.
