Can u add some advise?

i see in pics that the lower floor your go the more others above can see on your baconly?

7and 8 have the largest balcony’s so I assume 6 5 4 have larger rooms?

8 is fully covered from element but does it also keep sun out which we may need for warmth?

and is 8 bad do to so many people standing on pool deck viewing on an alasaakn trip. Not worried about pool don’t think that will be open

which deck is best and why.

like a lot about 8 for the privacy but worried about the noise above and no sun? So will stay colder during the day if it’s sunny

also I hear the rooms are slightly larger on other floors?

We've been in a corner aft suite on deck 7, three times and 5 once. Deck 7 was best for us. The suite is smaller than normal ones, however the wraparound deck space is tremendous. Also has a good ratio of overhang and blocking the wind.

No. Trust what you see on the deck plans. The rooms get smaller as you go from 4 to 5 to 6, then get larger again for 7 and 8 because they have removed one of the side cabins on each of those two decks. Compare the length of the side walls in the picture, especially between 6 and 7.  You can see where the side cabin is missing on 7 & 8.  Personally I think deck 7 is best.

I was liking 7 or 8

only thing with 7. Can the deck people see you from above if your on the rail

and 8 was afraid of noise. But will there be any ? In cold weather do they still setup lounge chairs. Or can u hear all the poeople up there for Alaska that would be viewing

We had an aft wrap suite on Nieuw Amsterdam on deck eight this last September.
Noise was never an issue.

We never saw anyone looking down on to our balcony.  Other passengers would have to go to the far end of the lido deck to see your balcony.  Most don't.  Also, if you note the pictures, they would have to lean out to look down.  There's far more privacy on deck eight than on any other of the aft wraps.

Another great feature is that it's very convenient to get up to the lido for a snack, a meal, or to get a drink.

While we much prefer the deck five aft wraps on the Vista Class (fully covered and large enough to play basketball), we would book deck eight again.  No question.

For a bit of background, we are very particular about our cabins and about our balconies.  We like a fully covered deck.  We like a big balcony.  For example, while the Princess Royal class are beautiful, we will not book those ships because of their very small balconies.

BTW, have you seen the pictures on halfacts.com?

The people on deck 8 can see you if they really want to. From memory and not looking at my pics, I'm thinking the roof covers about 75% of the deck.

Yes, you can be seen standing at the railing on all decks from 4 to 7.  We once had an aft-wrap on the N.A. on deck 5. In all of the times I looked up a saw people above me at a railing, I never once saw anyone looking down at me!  And if they did look, so what?  If you care about it, just spend most of your "rail time" on the side. But don't choose deck 4 in that case because the outer 1.5 ft of the side balcony is exposed.

What month are you going? AK can have some relatively warm days, in the upper 60's to low 70's.  There will be some use/movement of the lounge chairs.

Aft Wraps have been our room of choice for years.  On the Eurodam note that deck 8 and 6 have the adjoining rooms. Had one of those on deck 6 as it was the only one left, found the noise level from the other guests thru the adjoining doors quite bad at times. Never had that problem on any of the other suites.

Favourite deck is 7, followed by 4. Deck 4 has the window wash machine on the side which never seemed to be a problem for us.

We had an aft Neptune Suite on the Oosterdam last year and it was much smaller than the other 5 Neptune Suites we had had on the decks with the Neptune Lounge. It was a Guarantee in order to receive a deeply discounted casino rate so we had no choice. Same amount of furniture though and we kept bumping into things the whole time. Really disliked the location as it was so far from everything, including the elevators, the casino, and the Neptune Lounge. Would never book a Guaranteed Neptune Suite again unless on a ship that only had Neptunes on the same deck as the Neptune Lounge.
