Dry dock during pandemic

Does anyone know if any ships had any work on them during COVID?

Shipyards are slammed with business. Several Carnival ships will have dry docks before returning to service.

Drydocks, No. They have been generally in cash preserving mode and getting technicians on/off the ships would be probably be near to impossible. Most/all have been anchored outside US waters only coming in to a port every so often for provisions and mandatory minimum staff changes. Several dry docks are scheduled before the ships startup.

Great information. I was wondering because I’m sailing on the Conquest next year 🤞 and saw a dry dock schedule

Are you asking about cruise ships or just ships in general?

Conquest has nothing currently scheduled.

I think any dry docks in the near future are only going to consist of the minimum required inspections/maintenance. I don’t think any cruise line is going to be doing any significant upgrades during dry docks any time soon.

Depending on the ship layup status, a drydock is needed to renew certain certifications and other things to fully return back to service
