Rare little britain Posted June 18, 2021 #26 Share Posted June 18, 2021 (edited) On another note, just received confirmation of the 2n cruise on July 4. To say it is very vague about testing requirements is an understatement! We MAY also require that you undergo testing for COVID-19 between 72 hours and 48 hours, or some other time as we will advise, before your cruise. These tests could be arranged by you at the testing centre of a testing service provider which we have approved and MAY be at your cost. These tests MAY include swabs of the nose and throat. but even worse… On-board bar and lounge facilities and the sale of alcohol on-board - may be temporarily or permanently restricted or suspended due to health and safety requirements or operational issues, as determined in the sole discretion of the Captain and safety or medical crew Edited June 18, 2021 by little britain

Plus have to pay out for expensive testing just for a 2 night cruise And this is for a fully vaxxed cruise (over 18)
Disney-daft Posted June 23, 2021 #28 Share Posted June 23, 2021 Has anyone had any info about whether their change request was accepted or whether they've managed to get either of these sailings down to 1000 passengers?

bernard301 Posted June 24, 2021 #30 Share Posted June 24, 2021 I’ve not had any official notification but my booking has now been moved from 11/07 to 07/08 and I’ve been able to check in. The only slight issue is the £4980 account balance that’s yet to be corrected
Roybthered Posted June 24, 2021 #31 Share Posted June 24, 2021 We are still on the 7th July sailing and on the emails from RCL they have been saying that they require us to have a test 72 hours prior to the cruise and they will arrange at their cost and where it will be. To date we are still waiting for them to let us know. We are checked in (less luggage tags?) and it says we are ready to go but I am concerned that time is ticking and we need information on the test. I am leaving it until tomorrow and will be calling again to hopefully get more information. Has anyone had any information about this?

Rare little britain Posted June 24, 2021 #36 Share Posted June 24, 2021 (edited) I find it somewhat ironic that MSC are currently sailing successfully carrying both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests for over a month now. I know many who refused to go with MSC because of their open to all policy. A test before boarding ensures all are negative. Daily temperature checks are taken, another test half way through the cruise is taken, and again temperature checks even when you are lining up to disembark. And this system is working. X and RCI seem to be overcooking this. If MSC can do it... now carried upto 7000 UK passengers since restarting - why can't they? sowhat Posted June 24, 2021 #44 Share Posted June 24, 2021 Vaccinated guests will receive a user ID and password via email to access the Eurofins TrustOne App/web portal once registered. Then, use your user ID & password to book your testing appointment and to access your Test Results Certificate. .If Eurofins' testing sites are too far from your home, you may take a PCR test for COVD-19 with another medical service provider, which must meet performance standards of greater than or equal to 97% specificity, greater than or equal to 80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml. Your testing provider should be able to confirm this information. PCR test for COVID-19 must be conducted within 3 days of your sail date. Note: it's imperative that you verify that the provider can return your results before you travel to the port. If you are unable to get to a Eurofins site and decide to arrange a test with an alternative medical service provider, we will automatically add a $140 USD (£100) per person (for guests 18 years and older) onboard credit to your Onboard Account. This onboard credit is refundable and can be used anywhere onboard. If it is not used during your sailing, you'll receive a refund for any remaining funds to your credit card on file about 7 - 10 business days after the sailing ends. All vaccinated guests will be asked to share their negative PCR test for COVID-19 result when boarding. It's important that you show up exactly at your selected check-in time. Otherwise, you may be asked to return at a later time.If you're feeling unwell, please stay home and contact us on 0344 493 4005. We will gladly work with you to reschedule or refund your cruise. After your test Our testing partner, Eurofins, will provide your results via email. Please note, your results will also be shared with Royal Caribbean International. If your result is negative and you're approved to sail, you can make your way onto the ship!If your result is positive or inconclusive:Vaccinated guests: you'll receive an email from Eurofins and Royal Caribbean International regarding your options and next steps. It would be nice to have more details soon, such as which Eurofins service, is the postal one OK? Three days before the 7th is a Sunday? Easiest option for me is to drive to East Midlands airport on the 5th and take a next day Randox if the Eurofins looks difficult.

Mc_Cruiser Posted June 24, 2021 #47 Share Posted June 24, 2021 When I contacted the cruise line this morning, they said they hoped to start getting the details out today and that it would now give 3 days, not 72hrs, so it's good to see that the July 4th cruisers are receiving that info now. Those of us on July 7th should get it in the next day or two. The 3 days means you can get the test in the morning 3 days before the cruise to ensure it gets couriered that day. May still just book Edinburgh Airport to be sure.
