I booked two new cruise this morning for 2023. Princess now has several types of balconies from which to choose. This is probably a good idea, to help the customer be a bit more aware of the type of balcony they are booking. These were for the Sky.

1. Balcony Obstructed

2. Balcony

3. Deluxe Balcony Obstructed

4. Balcony Deluxe

5. Premium Deluxe Balcony

I believe that they have been using this for some ships for a while now....

The 'DELUXE' would refer to the slightly larger cabin interior.

The 'PREMIUM' refers to a slightly larger actual balcony, or often AFT balcony.

Balcony - Standard Balcony cabin size

also,  Balcony Obstructed...  usually on Deck 8,  obstructed by lifeboats.

Balcony Deluxe - slightly bigger cabin than Standard Balcony with small two-seat mini-sofa

also, Balcony Deluxe Obstructed, as above, but usually on Deck 8. obstructed by lifeboats.

Premium Deluxe Balcony - I believe that a these are balcony Deluxe cabins that have the slightly larger Deluxe layout, and with a bigger balcony.  These can be the AFT Deluxe Balcony cabins.

And, for example on the Ruby Princess and other similar ships with larger balconies on Caribe,  these are Premium Balcony.  (standard balcony cabin with larger extended balcony)

So, there are Deluxe Balcony cabins that are Premium (larger actual balcony) on some ships.

True, this is the first time I have seen this differentiation since I have not booked in a while.

I think it will be helpful for at least those new/ newer to Princess.

I have a booking on new Enchanted 12/30/21 with one of the new floor to ceiling Ocean View which are across the front of the ship on deck 17 - Sun.  It is classed as Deluxe Oceanview - what a view!!  Cannot wait.

There are only 6 across front with each corner having a Window Suite.

Ohhhh,  I know what else you all are talking about.

It used to be more confusing because they used to have the obstructed balconies (and obstructed deluxe) show up if you chose INSIDE cabin.   I think it does make more sense this way....

Looks like those window suites are listed as Ocean View!

Princess still has the obstructed balconies listed under the interior cabins.  At least on the Majestic Princess.

I went to the Princess website and deck plans for the Majestic and it does not appear so. Interior cabins begin with "I" like IB, IC, IF.
