Rare ysolde Posted July 24, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2021 I know that tipping is not generally expected on board Regent cruise ships. I also know tipping is expected on excursions (tour guides, etc.). What about the butlers, concierges provided in villas on private islands and at other locations? Should one tip for those services, or are they part of the Regent staff? My DH and I are newbies to Regent, and tipping can be so fraught in any event. Advice would be greatly appreciated. JMARINER Posted July 25, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2021 Anyone working off the ship is not part of Regent and they do not share in Regent's compensation. Even while on board, many pax feel that an extra gratuity is sometime warranted. (I do it.) Do whatever you feel comfortable with. There are no "rules." We rented a private villa on Harvest Caye (which is apparently a private island in Belize owned by NCL).

This, more than anything, is the part I find confusing and was wondering about.

Huh, didn't know there was such a thing. I would assume tipping is the norm.
