I suspect all the regional health authorities and a few gta mayors asking for one also helped. On the news this morning it sounded like everyone was ganging up on the province.

And rightly so!

Every case of Covid 19 can be traced back to some infected person entering Canada.

True enough, but with the exception of China, every single case of Covid-19 anywhere in the world can be traced back to some infected person entering the country.

Maybe the secret is "quit cruising with American cruise lines"?????

It's not 'American cruise lines' but rather cruises that embark from the US; the ships are not American (NCL Pride being an exception).  The point definitely stands though, where the ship leaves from definitely makes a difference in the rules.  One can only hope that the (hopefully not too distant)  future looks different than how it is right now; the overhead and risk of denied sailing is great for Canadians with few (none) options for directly stepping on a ship within our borders and without some form of (air) travel.

😞

Hate to throw a wrench into current flux, but... as we are fussing over the mixed vax issue, we need to be thinking about the future.

Here's a monkey wrench into the works. Fauci was on CNN yesterday and said he entirely believes that a full third dose will be required eventually for full vaccination. So are people who got a mix and are now looking for, and in some cases getting, a second dose of mRNA going to only find out that to be fully vaccinated you need 3 doses of mRNA and therefore your mix of AZ+2mRNA is no longer considered fully vaccinated?

Fauci is saying that once you get to the eight months mark, you will need to boost your immunity as it has been dropping off over time.   So if you have two vaccines within eight months of travelling you should be fine.   Once you get past a certain period, then you will need a booster or you will be deemed to be no longer fully vaccinated by the CDC and most likely by the cruiseline as well.

So for us mix vaxxers who have received a third vaccine(AZ + 2mRNA), we will need to take a booster eight months after the last mRNA.   I would not be surprised if this becomes an annual event.

Going forward, I will be watching what the CDC recommends versus what NACI says....

So eventually, I would guess that people will need to show their last 2 or maybe 3 doses, and ensure one is within 8 months of the cruise date,  to prove their immunity.
