Any Upgrade Bids Accepted Recently?

For what it’s worth, I sail in two days and I have not received any word on my bids being accepted.  But all the haven cabins showed as sold out this morning, and others on here have stated their bids for the same sailing were accepted……so it seems that NCL does NOT always inform you that your bids aren’t accepted.  YMMV.

Same deal here. We sail out on Sunday. Only difference is there appears to be 1 or 2 haven cabins left still....and I've got a pretty solid bid...so we'll see what happens.

Now that we're inside the 2 day window though, the chances of last minute cancellations has gone up as people get their pre-cruise covid tests. Also, the weather in Florida seems to be throwing off air travel all the way to the Rockies right now, so weather related cancellations might be on the menu as well.

Let us know when we check in if you get the surprise of a new cabin.

Will do.

It'd have been nice to get an upgrade earlier just so we could budget around that better, but meh, we'll see what happens 😛

NCL Joy May 5/15-22

We had a Deck 5 Oceanview Picture Window (5110). Bid $100pp for the Club Balcony Suite. The morning of 5/12 we were given a "free upgrade" to a larger Deck 5 Family Oceanview (5182) and our bid was canceled. Entered the same bid and it got accepted the afternoon of 5/12 - moved us to Deck 15 room 15170.

The other people we were with started in 5112, got the free upgrade to 518X (next door), then their resubmitted $100pp bid was declined on either 5/13 or 5/14. At check-in they were notified of a free upgrade to Deck 10 Balcony 10748. They were Silver level and had some kind of casino status so I assume those factored in.

They may have wanted those lower deck ocean view rooms to be available for quarantine rooms in case they are needed.

Just an update:

My husband and I were in a club balcony suite.

I bid on five haven categories for the 7 day Bliss cruise ranging from 750 pp to 1030 for the spa haven suite.

All bids were rejected.

Received the rejections the day before.

Hope this helps everyone.

Best of luck to you all!

Unfortunately, we were not able to accept your offer to upgrade to The Haven Spa Suite with Balcony (H9) for your cruise below.

Sail Date  Ship  Offer per guest
May 28, 2022  Norwegian Bliss  $1,030 USD per person
(only the first and second guest will be charged)

Thanks it does help and I appreciate you sharing. It is interesting to see what others have bid. I do think the winning bid amount also has to do with the amount of people who are bidding as well as price. Maybe next time.

How much is the upgrade to the Haven typically? I’m booked in a balcony of the getaway currently and have been thinking about trying for a courtyard haven room if it isn’t EXORBITANTLY EXPENSIVE

So all depends on the ships occupancy. I have upgraded form a Balcony to the forward facing Penthouse for $750 PP. Right now my sailing on September 29th for a 9 day on the Getaway is still showing 51 Haven Suites open. If you sail in the off season like September it is much easier to win a bid. I will always bid on all Haven Suites, As long as I bid and still save a few thousand dollars I am happy

Wolft I disembark the Getaway the day you embark and there are currently 53 Haven suites open.  I dropped the Minimum bid on 5 or 6 of them.  As I stated earlier I was surprised to get the email 110 days out.

In March on the Epic we were upgraded to the 2 bedroom Haven and that bathroom was AWESOME.  The full window in the shower was so cool!

How much did you bid? And what was your original room category?

So when i upgraded from Courtyard Haven Which i got a great deal on due to price drops, believe that was like 1799 PP, I then bid 800PP to upgrade to the 2 bedroom Haven Suite

We were originally in a Spa Balcony.  The minimum bid was 800 and we bid 850.  As the cruise got closer I decided I would HATE to lose out because of a few dollars so I bumped it to 895 (it saved me 10 dollars as I was going to bump it to 900) and we won our bid.  It seems, and makes sense, that they FILL the Haven on every cruise.  You are already paying the staff whether it is a full ship or not and those in the Haven seem to be the upper echelon of their staff.

So we tend to only cruise from day September to March because less kids and also prices are cheaper, I already noticed that we are 113 days out and haven prices have already began to drop, depending on how much they drop will determine whether we upgrade outright or bid

I believe you are correct.  No reason I can think of that they wouldn't upgrade as much as possible.  The trick is getting the most out of upgrades, so they have to look at both the amount of your bid as well as what they can get for upgrading someone into the room you are vacating.
