luv2ndhalf Posted December 30, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2021 Recommendations on travel insurance? We have purchased it before through Celebrity, but was looking at other options- particularly policies that cover pre existing conditions- thank you! nwcruiselover Posted December 30, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2021 (edited) I would recommending going to insure my trip dot com. That website provides many options and many companies to choose from. You can select to see only policies that include cancel for any reason. Good luck! Lastdance Posted December 30, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2021 For PEC, there is a certain amount of time insurance needs to be purchased, but others have a look back # of days. Do the comparisons and know what you need to cover.
Babr Posted December 31, 2021 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2021 Most policies will provide a pre-existing conditions waiver if you purchase the policy within 14 to 21 days of initial trip deposit and meet other qualifications such as being fit to travel. Some require you to insure all pre-paid non-refundable expenses. There are several companies that provide the waiver if the policy is bought before or at final payment. Other features of the policy depend on your needs so there is no best for everyone. Probably the most important consideration is the claims history and customer service of any company you are considering. You can do the research yourself at a website like insuremytrip or squaremouth. If you’d like guidance, you can use an independent broker like trip insurance store who screens the policy he sells for reliability and can help with the claims process if necessary. Arizona Wildcat Posted December 31, 2021 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2021 One thing to look at is exclusions based on travel advisories. My regular insurance covers me worldwide, but excludes coverage to places where there is a level 3 or 4 advisory in effect.
