There were two letters waiting for me from Saga...... the first was apologising for the non appearance of the Caribbean cruise brochure..... the second was the Caribbean cruise brochure..... 🤦‍♀️

 

Am due a refund to my CC for all the cancelled excursions.

 

As I'd booked through a TA it was expected that the cancelled Caribbean cruise refund would be made through the TA. The TA had previously withheld a refund from me for 60 days so I asked if there could possibly be a direct refund. A cheque will be wending its way to me and others who requested similarly.

I may no longer be on board but I shall follow SoA for a while through a crew member I was privileged to meet on board. He shares such intuitive words as well as his own experiences. Thankyou @fordykeicarlyuenrei for letting me share.

Tilbury Docks... Cleaning and Fixing SofA already started before we got docked...

Can't say and reveal too much on the process on doing it..

Still... I'll keep updating until she's in tip top shape and immaculate again.. 😅

Our hearts go out to all those affected, including our colleagues from the region and the friends we’ve made during our many years travelling there. We have made an immediate donation to the British Red Cross’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal and we are exploring options to offer practical support too.

I don't know if my Black sea cruise will go ahead in May.  But if it does, it would be only right  that  Saga and passengers on board do something significant to help the refugees in the countries we visit.  More than happy to put hand in pocket, feel we could not just visit and do nothing.

Gloomy morning outside... Crew areas and most crew cabins cleansing i think is today but work orders and schedules get shuffled around to accomodate resting times for all.. 

Had a blast on Lakeside Mall yesterday but it was too crowded so didnt stay long... 😅

I'd have certainly arranged a guest activity to raise funds, a sponsored deck walk, pool laps or something had covid and Caribbean allowed 💔

 Menu covers have the art motifs of every restaurant you dine in on SofA.. 

Always loved East To West but here we have Khukuri House and the art decor and theme is amazing..

Self-isolation in effect shipwide... Taking the necessary steps to have less contact and no social gatherings so cases will be gone by the time the ship sails again..

Only necessary people are allowed to roam around for operation only.. Hopefully this will be a great help to get rid of any remnants of the virus onboard.. 😅

We are watching the run up to the next embarkation with interest as we are booked on a back to back on 29 March.We were a little perturbed that the crew were let loose on Lakeside last Saturday but are now more reassured with the ‘Self-isolation in effect shipwide... Taking the necessary steps to have less contact….‘ However whatever they do there are no guarantees that it won’t creep in somehow, more likely through an embarking guest. It’s really a case of get on with it if one is happy in those circumstances.

We are wondering whether SoA will be embarking from Tilbury or Southampton.. We had an online pick up time posted two weeks ago but experience says not always to believe that and wait for the letter which is sent ‘a minimum of Seven days before embarkation’. A change of departure location could be problematic for some.

Hi Linda and Brenda, yes. we liked the toiletries so much that we brought the used bar of soap home with us! a nice reminder of the Canaries cruise every time we use it.  I see from net search that one can only buy Prija wholesale, so the only way to get more will be to book another cruise.......
