Cost of private ride to Nachi

I want to make sure we bring enough cash with 🙂

 

We have reservations to Nachi Cocum, and would like to book transportation there for the 2 of us, that we don’t have to share with others.  Any idea of how much this will cost each way?

Taxi for two - they will not make you share - should cost about $16+tip each way (current fare will be posted on a board near the taxi line for your pier).  If no cabs are waiting when you are ready to leave, the staff at Nachi will call for one -never had to wait more than about 2 minutes.

 

I suggest that you arrive early and drink a "dirty monkey" for breakfast! 😎

I was there this passed wend. it's 17 dollars each way from the international terminal ( Royal Caribbean)

Also, taxis are regulated and unionized.  Prices are set. Same for any taxi.

Tips welcomed.  There are no Uber or Lyft services. 

Just tell the taxi captain at the port you want a taxi for 2 people.

Be insistent if you want a taxi for two.
 

My pet peeve at the Cozumel cruise ports is they will put several “two’s” together in a van and then charge each couple the “taxi rate - for 1-4 people” per couple. IF a van is next in line at dispatch officially you should get the 1-4 rate for two people. Out on the street this is not the case and you would need to negotiate a discount or wait for next passing smaller vehicle.

 

It is annoying but unless we walk out onto the street to avoid the line at dispatch we generally let it go and don’t tip while cruising.  We have never had this problem on the street during land visits. In fact on our recent land visit in December we were getting good rates both in $ and pesos -eg 100 pesos ($5) from Del Mar to town, compared to $8/10 to town from inside the port.
