Thanks @binro01 for sharing all of these.  Can you confirm that the pool heat is still 'broken'?  It's been the case for at least 2 months now and I was hoping maybe they finally were able to get at least one pool working (other than the kiddie splash pad).  West coast waters are cold, especially in winter/early spring.  No one could get in the pool on my sailing in February, the water was like ice and guests were not happy. A few brave souls would try and get in, but would be right back out in a matter of minutes since it was like a Polar Plunge, lol.

Still broke. Kids were in there but not one adult.

UGH, that's what I was afraid of.  You couldn't get into the hot tubs because they were PACKED with kids since that was the only warm water to be had, so families hung out in the hot tubs all day. I counted over 20 kids in one of them at one point.  You can squeeze a lot of toddlers/young kids into one of those tubs.

We are at the airport getting ready to fly back home. A side note for everyone flying to LA for this port. Try and avoid LAX if possible. Use Long Beach International if at all possible. Uber/Lyft is difficult at LAX and it was also hard to get a large XL on Uber on departing the port to go to the airport.

Flash update. We just won an upgrade to a Junior suite for our second room. Now we have 2 Junior Suites. And get this! This has to be the luckiest RoyalUp ever. The 2 junior suites are next to each other! What crazy luck! And we will also open up the balcony divider to get that extra big double JS balcony!

Wow, congrats on upgrade. How were you able to do that? Did you ask or it was offered? Thanks for all the info.

I was told by the captain that the new heaters would arrive in May. Also, the cabanas that are closed off will be fixed. They have been closed off due to safety issues ( kids climbing up and injuring themselves).

Do you know if they plan to change the movie screen? Everything looks tinted green playing on there.

We're sailing out of LA in July. I didn't even look at LAX for a multitude of reasons

What room number is that? We were in a junior suite and it just had two chairs, no lounger. You can post after the trip so no one bothers you. Thanks!

We were on Navigator in 9324 Feb 21 sailing. The JS only had 2 chairs and a table I asked my steward if he could bring a lounge chair and he did.  Doesn't hurt to ask.

I agree - That's definitely going to be my next questions for the captain next time 🙂

I was in 1544 and 1540. Both Junior Suites had loungers and 2 chairs.

Super great trip report/vlog. Am I right that the there is no buffet dinner option? Windjammer is breakfast and lunch only? I just hate the thought of having to wear long pants on a Mexico cruise.

The Windjammer was open for all meals.

We just got off the Navigator.  While the Windjammer was open for all meals, I hated the fact that the buffet has gone back to self serve.  We did a lot of people watching while eating and observed a lot of things that were not pleasant:  kids sorting through the cookies looking for something they liked, people picking up plates and then returning them to the pile when they didn't like the food options.  Serving spoons being put back into the wrong food option, etc. etc.  Lines were more congested because people were not not sure what they wanted.  Oh well, crew service was nice while it lasted.

I know we have food options but we have always found that the buffet is a better fit for our small appetites.  Our game plan is to go early when the Windjammer first opens for meals so we can avoid the crowds and the mishandling of the food.

I have made a Review video of this cruise with lots of pics and videos from the cruise if anyone is interested 🙂  Feel free to give a look.

Thank you for the video!  I'm excited to cruise again..  I've never cruised the Pacific.  Would you tell me how the sea conditions were?

Thank you

Terri

Hi Terri,

I sailed the Pacific many times. I have not had any issues at all. I have had worse seas in the Atlantic many times.

It might just be luck, but even my 2 Alaska cruises were very calm seas.
