Dawn having mechanical problems

Heading back to Tampa after skipping Costa Maya

Minor problem-- left Roatan at close to midnight Thursday night.  Did not leave enough time to reach Costa Maya on time.  Costa Maya was have high winds anyway making docking impossible.

 

She is due to arrive about 3 A.M. tomorrow.  No problems with tomorrow's cruise.

Prayers that these problems are minor and easily overcome.  We are to sail her repositioning cruise to New York 4-17-22.

Surprised and happy to see that Ronny Borg is her captain.  He is probably one of our all time favorites.

He is very communicative when there is an issue, a very personable man. 

We sailed a Southern Caribbean with him years ago, Hurricane Sandy was on our heals heading back to Miami, then the hurricane went on up the east coast, doing so much damage in New Jersey, etc.

Hope others in the know will keep this thread up to date with the Dawn's condition.

Dawn is departing the Port of Tampa right now, pretty much on time, so maybe all is well

Ah the Dawn, my last trip on her was when we ran aground in Bermuda.  Memories!!

We’ve been on the Dawn several times.  

Our last cruise on the Dawn was eventful as well, 2 weeks from Boston to Quebec City and back.  We met the tail end of a hurricane on the way back down and couldn’t dock in Halifax.  Spent 1-1/2 days at sea feeling like we were in a washing machine.  But as with all cruises, it was certainly an adventure to remember.

Can’t wait for our first post-Covid cruise after so many cancellations.

But at the time the OP was made the title was NOT misleading as there seemed that there was an issue with the ship...
