Assigned Boarding time QM2 question

I am hesitant to ask this question...thought I would anyway as it might be useful information. 

 

We received a arrival time of 12:45 pm in Hamburg with a final boarding at 16:15 (4:15pm). We do not want to board at 12:45, would like to arrive around 3. Is that a problem? We would rather have the time in Hamburg to enjoy then rush to the ship.

On our sailing nobody bothered to check the boarding time. You could arrive whenever you wanted.

Why? It's the same line.

Because the staff at Ports are not employed by the cruise line so it's unlikely that your experience in Brooklyn will be relevant to what happens in Hamburg.

Our experience in Hamburg was that the passengers tended to arrive early rather than later, so by 3:00 there should be a short line of people waiting to board, unless something goes wrong.
