"The U.S. has announced that travelers who enter the U.S. by air no longer have to be covid tested prior to their departure. This will be effective as of Sunday, June 12. Therefore we at Viking will now stop our onboard testing procedures," said Viking Chairman Torstein Hagen in a Facebook post.

Do note that it doesn't include their cruises from US and Canda:

There are two ships that will be an exception to this rule. Select voyages in the United States and Canada on Viking Orion and Viking Octantis will still require that guests show a negative pre-cruise test to sail.

We know 2 cabins of people who just got covid onboard

Viking Orion which yes, is only 930 passengers.

But if 4 of them caught it mid-cruise,  you can bet others on their journey did also.

Looks like another cost savings for the cruise lines, and more covid for us. 😒

How long has it been since boarding?  anything less than 14 days -could have caught it BEFORE getting on board.
