CocoCay Beach Club - reassigning 'reservation'

Recommended Posts

Hi,

During a sale we purchased a OTW Cabana as well as Beach Club 'reservations'. We decided to keep the cabana but have friends who don't have beach club reservations and prices are much higher now - does anyone know how they handle the reservations for the Beach Club? I know the cabana we will get the 8 wristbands and I believe they don't track the names of people in the cabana, we simply use the wrist bands to go in and out of the Beach Club/Cabana area. Is the Beach Club similar or because we had to actually assign names to the reservation do they go off of names? Trying to reassign the lower priced Beach Club reservations to friends and Royal customer service is saying we have to cancel and re-purchase, excursion team has not returned an email we sent so I figured I would check with some of the experts here.

Quick add that we have 8 ppl in the cabana so giving these friends a wristband is not an option.

Thank you!

Once onboard two/three days before arriving at Coco Cay you will get a form to fill out with names of who will be in the cabana ... the wrist bands will be given at the checkin area at Coco Cay and placed on those who you have named. They don't give you the wrist bands onboard.

As far as the Beach Club I agree with those above.

I believe you, but totally different experience for us on 5/30.

Our group of 8 from 3 separate cabins just arrived at the check-in area and were escorted to our OTW cabana. The wrist bands were hanging from a hook and our attendant just told us to put one on if we were going to leave the cabana area so we would be allowed re-entry. I didn't go anywhere and never even put one on.

Well thanks for believing me. I posted our personal experience on April 30th when we had a Thrill Water Park cabana. Perhaps the difference was that our cabana included entrance to the water park also as to why things were handled differently.

We just had 2 chill island cabanas last week one I bought and the other my husband bought. the week before sailing I emailed the suite concierge about cabana location and he listed everyone for us but didn’t tell me who was at which cabana. Our friends told the cabana attendant the cabana number and got wrist bands. When we got to chill island around 10:30 no one was at the stand and we just walked back to the cabanas. We never left the cabana area but no one ever asked to see a wrist band. Personally I think you can just keep the reservation and list the other people on it and have them pay you. You can always say you weren’t sure where people wanted to go and you are traveling with a group. We had a group of 18 half in suites and half not and RC linked us all before hand and then the suite concierge booked us all reservations together for the shows.

Yep, makes sense that different types of cabanas are handled differently. I wrongly assumed you meant an OTW cabana.

Sorry I didn't specify we had Water Park cabanas. Seems like things are handled differently depending on the cabana or venue you've reserved...not to say that they couldn't change again at any time. Ya never know from one cruise to the next what policy will be in place.

Very very true on the policy change part.

It would make sense that they gave you wristbands from the start. I assume most people plan to leave their cabana if they bothered to get one in the water park... since, you know, it's a water park. 😁
