Cabo Overnight

The search function on this forum is not great!  I am pretty sure this has been discussed before, but I never focused on it.

I have always done just a day port call to Cabo San Lucas.  Now I am considering a 10 Day Mex Riviera cruise which overnights in Cabo (a tender port).

Does the ship remain anchored in the bay all night or does it sail to international waters so that the casino and shops can open?

If the ship remains at anchor, do the tenders run all night long?

Thanks in advance!

It stays anchored.

We overnighted in Cabo and tenders ran until about 12 midnight(everyone was onboard by like
11 because we were the last ones. But crew was out later, so maybe 1am?

Then is starts up at 6 or 6:30

It's fun to be able to do some night life in Cabo, but most things were still closed due to covid in Nov 2021.

Thanks, Six.  I am looking forward to some nightlife ashore.  The ship normally leaves Cabo so early that I don't get to see the nightlife.

It will be hard to have the ship's casino closed. I think I'd prefer the ship sailing to international waters for the overnight so the casino could open.   I spend a lot of time in the ship's casino, which is why the casino is giving me this cruise!!

Oh, well, I can always play in one of the Cabo casinos.  But I'll have to be careful to be back on board on time!  In a casino, I can easily lose track of time!

It anchors in the bay so tenders can run through the night, and there were early-morning excursions that started at 7 am the next day. My friend and I did the “down to Cabo and back again” 5-night cruise a few years back and the tenders ran more or less continuously until about 1 am. We hung out late in the International Cafe and watched the drunk and hungry masses swarm to get sandwiches. The dockside bars seemed to have the best time of everyone, though.

There was also a random fireworks show that we saw from our tender. We assumed it was from one of the local resorts, as it was professional-grade fireworks and there weren’t any obvious holidays in early December.

Coral, thanks so much.  The six hour "pause" in the tender service that your cruise had means that if we are out at the Giggling Marlin or one of the casinos after 1:00 a.m., we are stuck ashore until 7!  My wife and I are late night owls, so I'd better remember to set the alarm clock on my phone!!  Or gamble all night long!

You can get a hotel room in Cabo for a few hours?

I think that was more during the height of covid. Like I said April on discovery tendering was continuous. Came back to the ship around 12:30 at night. There was only one boat running then so you might be waiting 20+ minutes but they did use the word continuous on the announcements.
