First guarantee cabin has been assigned...Mardi Gras

Hi all. We did our first guarantee cabin because we had a casino deal that was "too good to be true". This is our first time doing guarantee, but since we're gamblers, we decided to roll the dice and see how it turned out. Well...we got our room, and it is located under the lido buffet on deck 15 mid-ship. I can't say we've ever had a room under the buffet. Is this going to be a noisy cabin? If so, can we call and request to try again on the cabin assignments? We are people who spend a good chunk of time in our cabin, and we keep pretty early hours comparatively speaking, so trying to have a peaceful cabin is pretty important to us. Interested in your collective wisdom and advice. TIA!

Cannot speak exactly to deck 15, but on lower decks directly above the crew operations, they tend to work 24/7. I recall being on a very low deck and heard a forklift all hours of the night and early morning. Perhaps under lido it may be a little loud late night, but will def be quiet until 8 ish AM.

When do you cruise - how soon did you get assignment? Still waiting on my OV room assignment on Mardi Gras and sail 7/16

We are sailing in September. I was surprised to see it was assigned, as I was expecting it wouldn't be until a week before hand.  I didn't get any notification, I had logged in to My Cruise Planner to look up something else and just noticed it had been filled in while I was trying to find other info.

In over 20 cruises we have only been under lido once (not mardi gras though). I did not expect it to be that loud as we were under the hallway near the deli. What I had not considered is that they push carts loaded down with plates over the tile floor and that can cause a loud rumbling noise. Other than that it was not bad.

I “think” if you booked a guarantee for a special rate, you’re likely stuck with it unless you want to pay the going rate as of now. I’m sure they would be happy to upgrade you, but I’m sure you’d also lose out on that special price.
