Booking two weeks on what Regent claim to be the most luxurious cruise line in the world is not cheap so is it worth it?

On the 19 th ,we gathered in the lobby of the hotel i forgot what time, directed to the bus that took us to port which was maybe an hour away. Arriving at the port, we left our suitcases with the Regent staff and we were quickly directed to the first station asking to see our Covid test papers. Then we continued to the next station where again they verified our Covid tests results and vacination documents. Finally we got the last station where we were given our room card. The embarkation process went quicky and smoothly. ++++

We then walked on board. What a ship! Everything meticulously designed to impress in a very dignified way.+++ Dark wood framing marble floors and walls everywhere from the public bathrooms to the private cabin bathrooms. Crystal chandeliers winked its flirting shiny look at everyone who dared look up. +++++ No IKEA here that i know of. Everything is sumptuous and pleasing to the senses.++++ We are offered champagne as we step in. But hold on, the champagne was to numb our senses a little as we find out we need to wait an hour or so before stepping in what will be our stupendous abode the next 15 days. OK...

Guess where we head too? The pool grill for something to eat. All that magnificent food staring at me. So i asked my husband if he thinks the chicken is gf. A handsome man named Luigi wearing a mask immediately approached me and asked, " Are you gluten free?" I answered yes. He asked my cabin number and informed me that i will be given a menu nitely and to return the menu by 10 am the morning with my choices. I'm impressed, within a few minutes i was already dreaming of all the food i could now safely order and eat. I imagined a kingdom where i could sample every food on the menu. This was going to be a great cruise because for a few days in my life i could have fantastic- gourmet? tasting food. Was it going to be though?

That night we chose the Sette Mari which is the cafeteria magically becoming an Italian restaurant at night. The food was excellent.++++ Luigi was there to facilitate the choices i could make.++++ Well I  chose 2 appetizers, 3 main dishes.  I know it's a lot but i did ask for small portions. As  i said before my goal for this cruise was to sample as many gf dishes as possible. By now you must think i am obese. Well not really but i could definitely become overweight if i took a world cruise. Let's not forget the wines. I am not a connaisseur but i have an ability to smell different aromas in red wines which i prefer to whites  finding them in most part too acidic. I thought why not sample the wines to go with the food. And i did.  Obviously i only asked for a quarter fill. I never asked for a full glass. I thought the service was impeccable+++ even though i could not understand a couple of the servers.----- That was going to become a recurrent problem-----. Some of the staff didn't speak English well.----

After dinner, we went to explore the lounges and stopped at the Explorer's lounge which was to become the and our place to be after dinner. ++++

It was very hot, and a strawberry daiquiri which is gf according to my sources was enough to send me running to bed.

That was the end of the first day. Great day, great start..

One long run-on sentence!  My head was spinning so I gave up mid-paragraph.

I read the exuberance in there, but I didn't see 'one long run-on sentence' - in fact, there were a lot of individual sentences.  Some paragraph breaks would have made it a more friendly read, but I liked the happiness and positivity for a change, something that's sorely lacking in the world these days...

Thank you for sharing your first impressions.  Please ignore those who like to pick on newbies, I am sure they are in the minority, especially once on board the ship.
