Early flight out of FLL

This January, sailing Odyssey. Other than a late night flight, the only option for Southwest is a 10:30 flight.. I'm thinking we should be okay to make it, right? Assuming no delays with the ship being cleared. Self disembark with the first group and we should be good? Those who have done it? I just really don't want to sit around until the evening flight.

If you look around the board, there are dozens of discussions on this topic. You will probably make it, assuming no delays, and you can carry your own bags off and grab a cab.

Of course you could look at other airlines that might provide a better flight selection.

Has to be southwest due to flight credits we're trying to use up.

We've made it to the FLL airport as early as 7:30am. But that was one time when all stars aligned perfectly. Most of the time, I'm past security closer to 10:00am

Since you're only looking at Southwest, have you looked at departures from MIA as well? Southwest is now flying from there as well. I know it's a longer drive but its not that big of a deal. Maybe they have better departure times that may be more suitable to your needs.

Do you have Pre or Clear or status to get through security? Do you have to check bags? Are you planning to pay for early bird?

No tsa pre or clear. Yes to bags and likely yes for early bird

You might want to look at vessel traffic and consider if you’re hitting a holiday weekend. Port Everglades is big, and can have quite a number of ships in, which means more passenger traffic.

January is getting to the busy part of the season.

Be cognizant of Southwest’s  policies on checking in and ticket usage- they have a pretty liberal policy about changing flights as long as you take action as laid out in their policies.

Pre or Clear can help you get through security more quickly. It is possible to have 40 minute lines to check bags. Curbside check may be a little shorter.

Vessel traffic is available at https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/.
