First time sailing Celebrity in a long time, have some questions

Hi all.  Last time I sailed Celebrity was in the 2010s, so I don’t remember much.  We are sailing the Infinity next month and have some questions about the ship, the packages, and the activities.

First, what can we expect about generally being on the cruise space-wise?  We have sailed on several very large ships and enjoy finding the private areas that such space offers.  I don’t remember the ships I sailed before, it may not have been the Infinity.  But I do recall a more intimate feeling, and less privacy and space.  Is memory serving me correctly?

The next question is about the packages.  If my wife does not drink alcohol, are the drink packages worth it?  Or should I just buy a drink when I feel like it?  I read that we also get premium water included, but is that something I have to get at the bar, or is that in the stateroom?  As for the dining packages, are they worth it given all the free dining options?

Finally, we have two days at sea on this sailing, and a few days where our excursions end earlier in the day.  Besides being at the pool or spa, what are the activities like?  Are there enough shows to keep us interested?

By the way, we are in AquaClass, which I’m not too familiar with, so that might change the answers to the above.  Any tips on that are welcomed too.

Thank you so much in advance for any help we can get on this

We sail X frequently.  Aqua class is great.  We seniors like dining in Blu and find no reason to spend extra at the specialty restaurants.  The menu and service are outstanding.    Depending on the ship, you may be able to get items off the main dining menu as well.  Sometimes we spot a particular appy or entree on the MDR menu to get at Blu.

Aqua gets you the Persian gardens (sauna, steam room etc) which I don't use.

Daytime activities are limited.  Trivia is popular.  There might be a movie somewhere.  Always some sales related events.  No shows during the day, but the nightly Celebrity theater shows have been outstanding.  The casino is open during the day when not in port.

Starting about 5, there will be music at various lounges. We usually find one or two of the acts to be to our liking and seek them out daily.

My wife also doesn't drink alcohol but the package comes included with other "always included" perks and is a no brainer to keep.  The drink package will also be good for a variety of non alcoholic cocktails.

The Infinity is a smaller ship with a warm welcoming fee.

In Aqua Class your assigned dining room is Blu.  Blu serves breakfast and dinner daily, no lunch, and is the reason most book Aqua.  It is a smaller dining room than the MDR with food and service that is a notch above the MDR.

The Infinity has 3 specialty restaurants - Tuscan Grill, Italian Steak House, LePetit Chef, a fixed menu dinner with a animated story to match your dinner; and Sushi on 5.  I haven't tried Sushi on 5, always get the filet at Tuscan and though that LPC was ok, one and done.

It sounds like you didn't book with a drink package so the water you are reading may be the water that you get with a Aqua cabin.  It has been a few years since we sailed in AQ but we only got 2 bottles of water and it was generic water.  If you wife likes specialty coffees, teas, soda you may want to consider a non-alcohol package for her, or both and then just pay for the occasional drink.

There will be a different show/entertainer in the theater every evening 2 performances each night.

Additionally you will find live music at various venue and times throughout the afternoon and evening.

We always cruise in a 2A veranda cabin and dine in Murano every night.  Almost every cruise it works out cheaper than booking Aqua Class, no brainier which to chose……….

We also love Murano, however OP mentioned that they are sailing on Infinity, which is an M-class ship. They removed the Ocean Liners restaurants from all of the M-class ships that had the same menu as Murano. Those ships only have Tuscan Grill, Le Petite Chef and Sushi on 5 so on those ships we'd choose Aqua Class to dine in Blu as long as the cost differential between verandah and Aqua wasn't ridiculous.
