Elo dolly Posted May 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2004 We just got a letter stating that the port of call was changed. This is for the cruise on the Valor, April 3, 2005. They revised the itinerary, and substitued Costa Maya for Belize. Was so looking forward to seeing Belize. Anyone have any idea why they would make that change? They also state they extended the stay at Costa Maya(8 AM -6 PM) and also Cozumel(8 AM-11 PM). What is in Costa Maya? Cozumel till 11 PM??? Wondering why the change, since Valor isn't even cruising yet. Our 5th cruise on the VALOR leaving in......

newbie2cruise Posted May 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2004 WE just went to caost on Glory and WE loved it. GO to Banditios they had good nachos and yard margaritas for 8.00 \. they have a huge outdoor pool, which you can swim up to the bars, and it has a large shallow area if you have kids. You can take a trip to mahjuhal(?) cant remember how to spell it, and they have great beaches etc. They have a quite large shopping area, very clean and nice. I got my best deals there. SOap stone carved windchimes for 2.00. They also have an open stage area and did some cultural show in full costume. If you give me your email I can email a few pics of it. I truely enjoyed this unspoiled bit of paradise my first cruise holiday family cruise Days til Valor Vampires Cruise
imatarb Posted May 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Oh yes, Cozumel until 11pm is a blessing. It was great when we went there on the Victory. Didn't feel rushed, and had plenty of time to do many things. As mentioned, Carlos and Charlie's is an option, but I think Fat Tuesday's would be just as good, and it's within staggering distance to the ship! ali38 Posted May 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2004 we sailed on glory last year and you aren't missing a thing in belize. we had to stop in costa maya instead of key west we did have fun there walking aroung port. but do stop for a drink and food , be sure to get a waiter named jose, short little man young and funny. we had a good time there.at least carnival had the descency to send you a letter of change, we never got one. there might be something going on there that day for them to change.it happens. victory...august, 2004 glory...2003 disney...2000 sun line...1984

Snowball Posted May 26, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 26, 2004 I seem to remember hearing about cruiselines changing the itinerary for just one week like this was because the ship was chartered by an extremely large group and the group requested the itinerary change. I hope that this isn't the reason, but it might be something you might want to check into. Debbie Click here for the 10/22/04 Legend CTN roll call! HOSKI Posted May 26, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Although, I enjoyed both ports I would vote for Costa Maya any day. More to do, doc not tender so you can walk off the ship, beaches close by, massage on the beach. Just really love Costa. I would like to do Belize again but it is not the best port.
