Carnival credit card

There is a promotion on that says if you purchase $500 you can get 20,000 fun points which can be converted into a statement credit of $200.  Does this $500 have to be a Carnival product or for any purchase?  I did read the T&C but it was not clear to me.  Is this a good promo or do they have better promos?  Last year my husband got $250 taken off when he applied for it right at the booking.

No it can be anything. I got the card 3 months ago and made a large purchase of batteries for my golf cart  and easily met the $500 ..  I received the ,$200 credit. After that with the Carnival price increases I went ahead and paid my cruise and gratuities off  since my wife finally decided she did want to cruise again. So it does not have to be carnival related.

There are far better travel cards than this one. If you are getting a card for rewards, I would definitely look elsewhere.

Correct. Only got it for the statement credit and for my daughter on purchases that won’t take applePay. I use my Chase Reserve for most everything else. I have several other cards that earn varying amounts of rewards on too.
