Air New Zealand ?

Flew this in November 2019 pre-pandemic so not sure what the difference might be now.  Our route was Auckland to Houston.  The seat did not have much privacy and was not a state of the art biz seat but was comfortable enough for us (we are not large people). Service was topnotch.  We slept well and AFAIR food was very good.  I fondly remember pancakes for breakfast 😁

For what it is worth, we had award tickets using UA miles with original routing of AKL-SYD (overnight layover) - SFO-EWR.  About 2-3 weeks prior to our departure (so about 7-8 weeks prior to this flight), Air New Zealand released award seats that I grabbed just before every miles and points blog lit up with this info.   I only found these seats by monitoring award seats for the month before our departure.  Air New Zealand is known for being stingy with biz awards.  In general award seats to Australia and New Zealand are tough to find so I consider ourselves very lucky to have gotten them.

Anyone have experience flying business class on Air New Zealand? Have read some pretty bad reviews.

I happened to come across this video a few days ago.  It's a detailed review and shows business class (from a flight taken about a month ago.)

Great video. Thank you. We are taking this 787 from AUK to SYD. Our LAX to AUK is a 777 which is four across. (Darn it).

Auckland is AKL. A flight to AUK will result in you arriving in Alaska...

Air New Zealand used to be very good but they're using a very outdated seat. (It's the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class seat that debuted almost 20yrs ago) and have cut back on their soft product that used to be amongst the best.

I do like Jeb Brooks' videos but he isn't quick to criticize
