We are sailing on X out of Tampa this coming Christmas/New Year's Eve.  We would appreciate any recommendations/suggestions.

For our only cruise so far out of Tampa, we stayed at the Marriott which is very close to the pier: Tampa Marriott Water Street

We stayed at the two below last January for a cruise. They were decent hotels and not crazy pricy. It wasn't too expensive to Uber/Lyft to and from port and airport. We are looking at booking them for our cruise next year.

Sorry for the formatting, I pasted them from a spreadsheet.

Hampton Inn Tampa Downtown Channel District

1155 E Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL 33602

Hampton Inn & Suites Tampa/Ybor City/Downtown 1301 East 7th Avenue, Tampa FL 33605

It's been a few years, but we have stayed in Tampa twice and arrived several days prior to enjoy the area.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Ybor City our first visit. We really enjoyed walking around Ybor City and seeing the cigar shops and finding places to eat. It's close to the cruise port, but far from the museums  and other stuff to do in St. Pete/Clearwater.

We stayed in St. Pete our second visit, to save some hotel $$$ and be closer to the museums and stuff to do in St. Pete. However, it is much farther from the cruise port (as noted in post above).

Busch Gardens is closer to Ybor City but still a bit of a drive.

Lots of hotels near the airport ("Westshore") with nearby shopping and dining.  Nicer and also near the airport is Rocky Point.  Tampa is not huge - a taxi from airport hotels to the port will run about $25+ and UberX or Lyft will be cheaper.
