Are there any good beaches close to the cruise docking location in Puntarenas, Costa Rica?

I have the same question as all the shorter tours are sold out on our upcoming cruise, and we've been here before, so the river tour is redundant.

 

- Are there any good beaches within reasonable taxi distance from the docking location?

- Is there a water taxi or similar to get to the Pacific natural areas and beaches?

- Does anyone know why there are age limits on snorkeling tours?

I am also wondering if anyone knows anything about Playa San Isidro beach.  I cannot find much about it.  We are looking for a beach close to the port that rents loungers/umbrellas and has bathrooms.  Thanks

Still looking for beach advice 😃 Would love to snorkel! -- Have a large group (5 of us) so a 1 fare taxi prob be a better option than most excursions pp.
