Wire Transfer of funds for Casino on Oceania

I am looking into sending funds to Oceania via wire transfer for the casino so we don't have to carry as much cash on us.  I got the information, and it sounds like you just go to the casino desk and can withdraw funds as you need it (and that way there is no fee, like there would be if you use an ATM). The person I talked to said you can take out all your funds while onboard or have it wired back to you at the end of the cruise.  Has anyone done this?  What is your experience?

This is a bad idea.

From the Oceania website, I found this and called the number below.  The person I talked to gave me all the information on how to do the wire transfer and to how to make sure it would be there for my cruise (she said at least 2 weeks prior to cruise and to put Ship, State Room, and Itinerary so it would go to the right place). Your funds will be available at the cage (there is no fee like with a cash advance or ATM).  "At the cage you can withdraw cash, marker and add to your onboard account card to play slots" or tables.

SO... I was wondering if anyone on here has actually done this and how it worked out for them.

Would prefer to have 'some' money sent this way so we don't have to carry so much cash with us or use the ATM/Advance (both with high fees).

CASINO CASH & CREDIT

Front Money deposits are accepted for gaming in the form of cash, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks and wire transfers delivered to us prior to embarkation. All cashier’s checks require prior verification. For more information please give us a call at 877.625.2094.

You can also obtain funds through a traditional line of credit/marker system like in a land casino. Just have to fill out a credit application and tell them how big a line of credit you want. Or you can draw funds from your onboard account with some limits as to the amount per day.The casino manager can waive the fee if you play the higher limit tables or slots.

You really need to read your cruise’s T&Cs and Ticket Contract regarding O’s liability limits and exclusions in regards to contracted operations on and/or for its cruise ships.

I have done this with NCL.  Basically you wire the money in and on the first day you come up with your ID and they setup your account.  Anytime you need money you go to the cage and get it, or you can ask the pit boss for a marker at the table.  Nice and easy.  On NCL there is like a daily withdraw limit -- they don't want you pulling all of your cash out in a single day.  You can pull it out and lose it, but they have like a 2k a day limit on cash withdraw that you keep.  In my experience it never really applied, if I asked for cash for the slots they gave it.

On the last day of the cruse you provide your wire information back and they take care of it about a week after the cruise ends.

I've found its much nicer than carrying a large amount of cash around.

I don't get it,people gamble all sums of money but to pay $2.00 for an ATM withdrawals they get nuts LOL

It's not only the $2 or more fees.....it's that there is a limit to how much you can withdraw using an ATM account method.

I find it easier to set up  a credit line with the Casino dept in advance.  You can draw against it as you wish....and only have to write them a check at the end of your trip for the amount that you have been advanced.  No fees, etc....BUT you do have to apply and get the credit line in place before you cruise...

I just don't love the idea of providing them with my account details and having them run the check.  But that is the most common way people do it.  I have a B2B coming up in November and have been in contact with the credit folks about how best to handle.  It seems like they will let me wire in funds mid cruise as well as roll over funds to the next cruise.  So I can just let my bank know I plan to send in money before the cruise and may email/call to replenish mid-cruise depending on my performance.    NCL just says it takes about 24 hours from when they get it until its available on the ship (assuming not over the weekend).

I've found it's really nice to just ask the pit boss for a marker and have them bring me a form to sign and give me chips.  At the end of the evening I'm usually depositing winnings or excess back into the account.
