Okay, let's finish up the dinner pictures before I go on with Cozumel.

 

This salt crusted dorade is for the best piece of fish I've ever had, ever... I forgot to take a picture when they presented it, so I only have the finished product. On the side: twice baked potatoes and creamed spinach.

Alright, back to Cozumel... When I left off, the bartender was mixing my margarita and I headed down towards the beach to a table... I just sat there and savored every single drop and talked with Crescencio. There were birds flying in and out of the place looking for scraps of whatever, and Crescencio was giving them some pieces of tortilla chips. It was getting about that time to relieve myself again, so I made my way over to the bathroom, which is a porta potty... I'll spare you the picture of the inside, which let's just say when a porta potty sits in the hot sun, it can get a bit "ripe"...

I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I usually do today, as I was just trying to be on vacation for a while... Next thing I knew, we were heading further down the road back towards town.

Whew, I FINALLY got caught up, work got in the way these last few days. I will say thank you again for taking us along with you. You definitely have a writing and photography style that keeps everything interesting and makes us want MORE!!!

Agreed, the salt crusted dorade one of the best things I've eaten, ever, absolutely delicious. Had it on 2 cruises so far and I can't wait for August to have it again!

I wanted to try and get in at least one "new to me" place today, so we stopped by Pescaderia San Carlos... Definitely a little hole in the wall type place, and I've been reading about their ceviche for years. Now, I'd finally get to check it out. I ordered the "small mixed ceviche" which has fish, shrimp, and conch... It's marinated in lime juice, and has tomatoes and cilantro in it... When it arrived, I knew that there was no way I'd ever be able to eat all of it, and this was the small...

We stopped by a liquor store to see if they had anything interesting to bring home, but I decided against it. Next thing, he took me back towards the pier to drop me off. I always give him a 50% tip, which of course he appreciates. He's probably more of a friend now than just my "driver"... I was on foot now, and I headed over to La Casa Del Habano to look at some Cuban cigars. I knew that the tax here on them was high, but I also didn't want to go home empty handed. I looked at lots of different ones, and for sure many ran in the forty to sixty dollar range EACH... I wasn't about to drop five or six hundred dollars, so I finally settled on a ten box of Romeo Y Julieta No. 2 for $220... I still had about a hundred dollars worth of pesos, so I blew those out and added another hundred twenty... Who knows how they're going to be, and I guess I'll find out when I get home...

WOW everyone is loving on the salt Dorado. It was the only thing I didn't eat on the cruise because I didn't like it. And I love fish.

After that, I wanted to have one more drink before heading back to the ship. One of my other all time favorites is Dick's Dive across from Wet Wendy's... I've been going there for years, but it's been awhile since I last visited. I ordered a top shelf margarita, since I didn't come all this way for a regular one. It ended up being almost $20, but it was worth it. What's money when you're on vacation?

Once the drink was finished, I paid my tab and bought a t shirt and began walking back towards the pier... I felt some sense of accomplishment today, especially with how I was feeling earlier. I'm still not 100%, but I haven't been in decades, so...

The Salt Dorade is our favorite Virgin taste for sure and our first at The Wake when we get back on board. I wonder how many times we will repeat it over three weeks?

All in all, I think today turned out pretty well, considering how I was feeling earlier. I guess that for a person who's on vacation, I should be having the time of my life, but I brought a lot of my weight from back home along with me. I had even thought about not doing this entire "review" at all, but it's given me something to help pass the time. I want to really make a monumental effort to get my life going in the right direction once I get back. I've drifted along with the current for way too long, and now I've got to grab the oars and start steering myself to a better place. I guess that I shouldn't be airing all my dirty laundry here, I always just try to be honest with myself and the readers... 

 

I don't have any idea what I'm going to get into here tonight, but it likely won't be anything much...

I guess that I found something to do tomorrow... There's a tequila and mezcal class at Pink Agave that looks interesting. I went ahead and booked it.
