After the long drive across the transversal road, we arrived at Mezcalitos, one place that's pretty special to me... They always remember me here, and I guess it's probably because I always insist on their best tequila, as well as tipping the guys there well...

That's my main bartender here, and he's been making my margaritas for about a decade now... Whatever he does, it always turns out great, and pretty soon I had one of my most coveted drinks ever in my hands again...

Oh, the drink picture... This one for sure turned what began as a depressing day around. Strange thing is, that I sat there and watched how much liquor he put in it, but it didn't taste strong like you would imagine. It strikes the perfect balance every time, and I assume he's probably made millions of these things...

Pretty soon, I was ready for another drink... I don't have any idea how long it's going to be before I return, and it one of the things I always look forward to here...

So, after the guy asked twenty times about the dish he wanted, the manager agreed to just make it, because he wasn't going to let it go...

Last time I was here we arrived before Diego's Tacos opened, so that was the main reason for my delaying my departure. It's right across from the airport, and lots of people who visit stop there right when they get off the plane. I was craving their awesome fish tacos, which I haven't had in a while, and they were as great as I remembered...

Since last time I was here, they completely remodeled the place, and even added a nice new restroom, which wasn't there before. Well, maybe not an award winning restroom, but there were definitely worse ones today.

It's definitely rustic, and the missing toilet seat would be a theme for today... Maybe there's a toilet seat shortage here or something...

Something to bring on your next trip to Cozumel.  Toilet seats!

Alright, I'm going to put it on "pause" for a bit to take another shower and get ready for dinner... More later...

If I called Crescencio would he know where to go if I said "Gimme the Sid bar tour"?  I've never been to the other side of Cozumel.

I talked with Crescencio for awhile, and caught up with him...

Sid, what does Crescencio charged for the drives he takes you on & what kind of tip do you usually leave for him?

Also, what does he do while you eat & drink your way around the island?

I'd like to book with them for my trip in September. I'll ask him to just take me where you take Sid. ha ha

He would for sure know who you were talking about, just tell him to take you where Sid James likes to go and he'll know... I pay for the two person tour, which is the minimum, and it's four hours for $80... I always give him a $40 tip, but that's just me, and because he always takes me himself... He sits right there at the table with me wherever we go, and I always buy him lunch...

Everything here so far has been great! Bone marrow is an acquired taste, and rich as hell, but nice. The hamachi crudo was nice too... Coming up next: the salt crusted dorade, which is strange for me at a steakhouse, but I had it here once before and it was unbelievable... Hopefully that still holds true this evening.

When we left off in Cozumel, we were heading away from Mezcalitos to my next favorite drinking spot: The Mojito Factory, AKA Miami Bar, AKA the Coconut Cabana... They have a margarita there that is unlike anything else anywhere...

When we were approaching, I could see that the original building was gone, and the entire place had been rebuilt from the ground up, including their huge sign that was now gone. The drinks and service were still as great as ever, but I couldn't help but be nostalgic about the old place.

I had them mix me up one of their signature margaritas with fresh cut limes and fresh cut grapefruit. And, when I say fresh, they cut it and squeeze it straight into your cup... It's quite unique, and I wish that I could have had two, but I was already feeling good from the couple of margs at Mezcalitos...
