Shuttle offered Civitavecchia (Rome) Ship warf to -> Civitavecchia Train Station ?

Hi!

I am familiar with Civitavecchia port and the long distance it can be (depending where your ship is docked on the long warf) walking from your ship to the train station.

On a previous cruise with Seabourn, the cruise line provided shuttle busses from the ship to the port-entrance.

Does Celebrity also offer a shuttle service from the ship to the cruise terminal entrance? Or maybe even the train station? Haven't seen it in the excursion list of my specific cruise.

Thanx a lot!

  • stan1980 changed the title to Shuttle offered Civitavecchia (Rome) Ship warf to -> Civitavecchia Train Station ?

Yes, new this year in Civitavecchia are shuttles run by the port that take cruisers directly to the train station for 6 euro per person.

This joins the already-offered FREE shuttle that takes passengers only as far as the port gates, where you could in the past then get a 2 euro city bus to the train station.

Otherwise its a bit of a long walk with luggage or on a very hot day.

Last time we did the transfer was quite easy.    You get a free shuttle from the ship to a Lot where you get off pay a small fee of about 2 euros and the bus goes directly to the train station.

This is how it was last time we were there (6-7 months ago).

Thanx a lot everybody!

Good to see that shuttles within the port are a thing.

I'm asking cause I'm looking for DIY Rome options, as Civitavecchia is a port of call on our itinerary (not a turnaround port).

I've been in Civitavecchia on previous cruises years ago, and I know how much "hassle" this port is. So I'm looking for an easy way to get to Rome, without having to pay obscene cruiseline shore-ex prices.

.

Does anybody have experience with local tour companies offering Civitavecchia<->Rome day shuttle bus services?
