English Soccer on Explorer

Recommended Posts

Found a thread from about 4 years ago, so not sure how accurate that info is.

we’re sailing out of Ravenna late August.

Is anywhere likely to show them (English soccer matches).

Whether it’s a sports bar or the pub (assuming this ship has those).

doesn’t it matter if you’re at sea or not?

Game kicks off at 17:30 local time (and I think sail away might be at 18:00 or 19:00).

Would that even matter?

I'm thinking I might have to make some sort of plan to watch a bit on my phone before I lose network coverage.

(I know it’s only a game and it won’t be the end of the world if I can’t watch it… but I’m definitely going to try).

Sadly the Explorer doesn't have PlayMakers so you might be out of luck. The 'Sport24' channel is the one that shows PL games.

Maybe if someone is onboard at the moment can confirm!

(I'm also on Explorer next February and also interested... would've been fine if they'd added PlayMakers during the refurb as was originally planned).

We’re on Explorer on August 13th and hoping to catch the first matches of the season. I’ll let you know what we find. My football mad son reckons ESPN will show them but we’ll see.

My Arsenal mad friend is going on Enchantment the following day … her first cruise… I wonder🤔 whether she’s realised about the signal ( or lack of!) 🤫

So please let us know how you get on!!

Can anyone who's been on Explorer when she's out in the Caribbean advise if they show English Football onboard? I think it'll probably hinge on whether or not the ship has the 'Sport24' channel or not, but someone who's been onboard recently my be able to advise.

Thank you.

I've also found that to be the case previously, stateroom only for football, but on our Explorer cruise last August the majority of passengers were Italian/Spanish and UK Premier League and European football was shown continuously at all the bars.

I bumped into some disgruntled US guests who wanted some baseball highlights but the football won and remained on in the sports bar type place (I forget its actual name on Explorer)
