parrottmama Posted August 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2023 HI All, This is my first cruise since 2018 because of illness. I am booked on January 19 Vision from Baltimore as my doctors want me to take a shorter cruise than I normally do, I usually do b2b or 14 nighters. My dh and I decided to do this cruise for his 65th bday but was wondering for those that have travelled to the bahamas and cococay ad South Carolina, will I be able to get into the water in the bahamas at all.. Th e other cruises from Baltimore during that period of time do not have CocoCay and I really want to see how that has grown up. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Also is the Solarium open to children because it is winter time, I have none but was curioius. Thanks for your input.
firefly333 Posted August 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2023 Maybe just swim in the pool at coco cay? Might be ok, cant predict weather 6 months away. Go and enjoy. There is a tram around coco cay I'd take. I walked .. and walked. .. clear to the back beach. Too much walking for me, it was a hot day. I enjoyed my funnel cake. Solarium is adults, the areas like food inside are for anyone. Just the solarium pool area is adults.
Rare ReneeFLL Posted August 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2023 @parrottmama I’m not sure why you are wondering if you can get in the water. Are you thinking it might be too cold? It was for me during that time, but I’m from South Florida so I’m not used to it. I have seen plenty of other people in the water. They must be from up north. 😁 1

Tatka Posted August 4, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2023 Water was cool for us during winter in both ocean and pool. In 2021 even during Thanksgiving week water was cold. Still very enjoyable days. Loved funnel cake!
parrottmama Posted August 4, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted August 4, 2023 Thanks for he replies, I was just wondering about the temperature but since the Vision is bascially booked, I guess people don't care about the coolness of the water in the bahamas. I looked at the general temperature and it is around 77 degrees so that isn't so bad. It is the water temperature I worry about. Unfortunately Vision doesn't do Coco Cay or the space center in April, it does do Bermuda which i have done 7 times and it is too cold for me in April. Thanks again and have fun cruising. Hi Parrotmama I am also on this cruise and wanted to let you know there is a thread with 8 or 10 posters that is a dedicated thread listed under Royal Caribbean Roll Call Vision of the Seas 19 January 2024 ..... Hope you will join us there. I will be cruising solo on that cruise but my significant other will join me for the following cruise (making it a b2b) to the 12 night Southern Caribbean on the 27th.
