It is safe to say the Overland excursions will be exceptional. With prices to match.....

It's certainly a different itinerary and the A & K excursions will definitely be an attraction. The only "issue" may be the lengthy part of the itinerary "going the wrong way", eastbound. One of Crystal's CDs once said the World Cruise should always "chase the sun".

Yes, passengers are always adverse to eastward world voyages. Turning your clock ahead every few days always throws people off. In Addition, it puts more stress on the crew who have to compress 24 hrs of work into 23.

Seems like some of the "direction" decision could be a result of wanting to be in Rio for Carnival.  Otherwise, it's too quick a trip from FLL to Brazil.

Eastward voyages:   Great if you are doing Around the World in 80 days.

Or on a millennium trip on Symphony and because of the Eastward across the Pacific you get 2 millennium New Years Eve celebrations - one on each side of the dateline.  What a great 2 nights.
