Lost Oakley Sunglasses and LSU Hat in Juneau Alaska on Norwegian Jewel

Hey everyone!

I'm new to this forum and I figured maybe someone could help me out. My family and I went on a two week back to back cruise through Alaska on the Norwegian Jewel a few weeks ago. We disembarked on August 7th, 2023. On the second leg of our back to back cruise my son and I went on a NCL excursion named Mendenhall Lake Kayaking & Salmon Bake. I brought my old LSU hat and my brand new Oakley Sunglasses. Anyways, I had the hat on my head and my sunglasses the entire time through the Kayak adventure. When I got back to take off our "skirt" off, I took my hat off and placed them on the bench next to the van with all the Kayaking gear. Needless to say, I left the glasses there with my old hat (which I've had for 18 years). I was hoping someone would be going on one of these excursions and could help out with getting my glasses and hat back to me. I would of course pay for shipping. Our tour guide's name was Leonnica.

Thank you all in advance for any help!

I have attached a picture of me and my son with my glasses and hat on after the excursion and right before I misplaced them.

Seriously, buy a new pair of sunglasses. There are hundreds of items left behind every day. Most end up in the trash.

He probably will replace the sunglasses…but the hat, that’s sentimental.  Perhaps the hat from the 2005 SEC Championship game between UGA snd LSU (this GA fan won’t tell you who won…lol).  But, I commend @joey_ourso for at least trying.  Good luck!

LOL! You are right. It is not a championship hat, but I've had it since I went to LSU and that was almost 2 decades ago. I can always replace the sunglasses, but it would be nice to get both of them back. $200 glasses are not cheap. Thank you!

@joey_ourso — one other thing: call NCL’s shorex desk (866-625-1267), tell them what happened, and see if they can put you in touch with the tour operator (or call them for you). It’s a long shot, but no downside to trying.

I have lots of caps that have sentimental value. I hope you get yours back.

I talked to the shoreex desk before I left and they couldn't give me the email address they use for communicating with tour company, so I did some research with the name on my ticket stub and found out the name of the tour company. I have called them and will try to call them again to see if I can get some information.Apparently they operate in more areas then Juneau. If you know of anyone going on that shore excursion, please ask them to check! Thank you!

Last year on Wonder of the Seas left my cell phone on a tour bus.  Went to the excursion desk, they called the excursion vendor, found the phone (even sent a picture of phone to identify).  We had already left port so Excursion desk they'd pick up next time in port and ship to me.

Home a few weeks later I get email from Wonder of Seas excursion desk they'd picked up phone and would be shipped to me.

That was June 2022, still no phone.   Replaced phone with insurance fortunately.

FWIW (which isn’t much) there was 5 or 6 boxes of unclaimed lost and found at guest services as we disembarked in May,,, and this was just stuff left around the ship.

Lol..yeah. All the OP can do is try.  My guess is there is a seasonal tour worker sporting a nice pair of Oakley’s.

@BirdTravels What, do you work part-time behind the desk at guest services to help offset the cost of all those cruises you take?
