DOU Question

Sailing in a week.  Will have DOU for the first time, I think I have read on the forum that you have to be served while seated and playing only, is this correct?  Or can I get up and go to the casino bar and get my own?  Only reason I ask is the few times I have ordered a drink in the casino, it took FOREVER to get my drink.  Mostly just trying to find a server to take my order and then a little wait while they wandered around and took others before getting them filled.

If you have DOU in the casino only then you can't order at the bar. If you have DOU everywhere you can. If you go to the bar ask a server standing there and most times they will put the order in for you. Also if you tip well server will remember you and come back more often. YMMV

Just in Casino.... not anywhere.

Cash is King! A couple of bucks to your waiter and they will take care of you.  try to target one or two.

I have actually been walking out of the casino, asked my favorite waiter for a glass of wine while there were at the bar, and they fixed me up while standing there. Exter cash for that.

Agree! Never have to wait for a server once the initial contact is made! 😎

how is the waitress response time on the Mardi Gras?  I've been on 15 carnival cruises over the last 16 year and not one casino had decent response time on waitress service.  I'm a avg to slow drinker too.

This. On my last cruise, my waiter even got drinks for my BIL who was just standing around watching me play.

Can confirm. We were big tippers and had multiple servers all over us all the time. We couldn’t drink as many as they were bringing! Went home with seltzers and monsters.

In my experience lately, service is Slow (fewer bar waiters?)... but as stated - Tip a few waiters well and they'll remember you. I've been served while just standing watching the craps table and also gotten drinks for my DH though the DOU was for me only.
