MSC World America - Quantum + Oasis class in one?

Recommended Posts

We totally loved MSc yacht club , live music from about 5 to 11, outside area had lots of lounge chairs and a nice eating area for breakfast and lunch , large bar , small pool and hot tubs . Their private island had a great reserved area with load of waiters in beach area , great lunch with waiter service. Captain was very visible had a couple of nice conversations with him . Butler would escort you off the ship or to shows with reserved seating .

MSc also gave me a ten percent discount because I am a veteran, we did spend time out of the yacht club, buffet had the best pizza , also attended some really nice shows, there was a nice sports bar with loads of tv, also had a really nice jazz group with a really good singer . We have a Rccl harmony cruise in November after that we will more than likely book that again for next year or MSc yacht club , the big plus for rccl is it leaves from Texas . MSc now also sails from New York City which we love.

Before you book MSC, take a look at the food and service reviews across the various ships. As they say, you get what you pay for…

Problem is you aren’t getting what you pay for with Royal these days. You are getting less and paying more.

We sailed MSC Virtuosa this year..whilst the ship is beautiful i would say for those that expect the level of staff service, speed and attentiveness then you will be disappointed on MSC. Everything takes longer, bars, food etc. Buffet was packed although the food was good.

Royal Customer service from the staff is excellent as expected from an american cruise line. MSC totally different. Both crowded but MSC how should i put it 🤔 wont bow down as much as you would fine on royal.

That said a different experience, gorgeous ship and decor and good food.

On P&O Arvia at mo and she blows MSC and any Royal ship lower then Oasis class out of the water. Including Quantum class, Better all round, food, entertainment, costs, staff just as nice and friendly and dont have to tip for everything. 👍

That said i do love Oasis class 👍

Your experience mirrors my one MSC experience. I’m one and done

The only way I try MSC again will be in a suite in YC. Everything I’ve read says that’s the only way to do it.

While true, the service and food was still good in December. MSC has gotten a wide reputation for low food quality (other than pizza and Italian) and Italian (read: surly and clueless) customer service. Is that changing? Don't really know, but I don't feel the need to gamble with my cruise dollars. Royal's customer service and food was still worth the money the last I was on there. If that changes, I'll look at making a change, but MSC absolutely won't be at the top of my list of alternatives.

I totally understand inflation rates and need to recover from Covid, but the current rampant price increases and service cutbacks on RCI will only to shoot them out on their feet, really, sooner rather than later, come the anxious to cruise after pandemic crowd to its last line. Icon is pinnacle of the absurd at that front. To each, their own. If there are people interested on paying those ridiculous prices to go on what is basically an EU 4* land hotel, with some 5 starish features, ok on me, but I'm out. MSC might to have their challenges, but they're more than ready for EU 4* standards perhaps with a "+" on top, especially within the YC enclave, so I have no doubts on going MSC for the purposes. As for RCI better them to rethink their strategy. Perhaps you'll may have older X ships for less than say, Icon?!...

I know people are skeptical of reviews, but with YouTube videos you can see with your own eyes the chaos and long lines.

I'm taking my first cruise on MSC in January out of NYC. Recent reviews I've seen have mostly been pretty positive. Nine night cruise to the Bahamas with drink package and wifi for $1,020 and that's solo. Three dinner specialty dining package for $71 including gratuities. I'll see how it compares to my Anthem cruise last December. The ships are about the same size and age. I'm cruising Oasis next month which is a much larger ship than the MSC Meraviglia.
