Beach Access from Pier

Will there be local taxis to get us to the beach when we get to Barbados? Just want to hang out at the beach for the day. I'm seeing excursions through
NCL for over $100 per person.  Thanks

Plenty of private and shared minivans.  
Exit the terminal, shared cab ranks ahead and slightly to one’s right, huge area, can’t be missed, approach, one will be asked for the destination, confirm and one will be directed to the next minivan loading.

Or you can walk to a beach in 20 minutes or so, by heading towards the town.

Other money saving options known to S.H.T.

Take “Towels” from the ship to spread on the sand to avoid paying or a bed.  

Bring free food and drink browsed from the ship’s buffet, all wrapped in a napkin.

As a guide US$20 per cab e/w plus tip.

We were just there and shared taxi to harbor lights was $5pp. We were going to walk but sure glad we didn’t. It’s very hot and humid and the taxi price is cheap. We like having a lounge chair and umbrella but saw people just laying towels down,. Sun was intense so the umbrella is a must for me.
