Lakelife4me Posted September 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2023 We will be on Wonder of the Seas for the March 17th - 2024 sailing. We stop at St Thomas but don't get there until 12:30pm. We are thinking about taking the water taxi to Water Island but that late arrival worries me a little. There will be 4 ships in port that day. ms Nieuw Amsterdam 2.527 passengers 20 Mar 2024 - 07:00 Disney Fantasy 3.500 passengers 20 Mar 2024 - 07:45 Norwegian Encore 4.903 passengers 20 Mar 2024 - 11:30 Wonder Of The Seas 6.370 passengers 20 Mar 2024 - 13:00 Has anyone done this with a late arrival like ours? I've seen posts where people have commented on how busy the Ferry gets, especially with that many ships in at once. I don't want to end up on youtube as a dock runner. 🙂
time4u2go Posted September 23, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2023 How late does your ship stay there in the evening?
Fouremco Posted September 23, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2023 The last ferry back to Crown Bay leaves at 6:15PM, so with an 8:00PM departure, there's no need to worry.
jwlane Posted September 23, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2023 They won't send more people to Water Island than they can get back. I suspect it's not as popular for those not docked at Crown Bay (which will probably ONLY be Wonder).
Lakelife4me Posted September 23, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted September 23, 2023 Appreciate the responses. The ship leaves at 8pm and we will probably only spend 3 or so hours if we go. I just wanted to know if there were any pitfalls that I wasn't aware of. Thanks again folks!
Ms411 Posted September 25, 2023 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2023 There have been times when there were more people wanting to go and the ferry capacity was exceeded so some people had to wait for the ferry to return for another unscheduled pickup. Sun Lover Posted September 25, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 25, 2023 We also have a late arrival at 12:30 and want to go to Magen's Bay but I'm wondering with 4 ships in port, will it be so crowded we won't be able to enjoy it?
