Oh, I get that part. To be sure. My question remains. What purpose is to be served by exacerbating the situation and only pouring more "egg" on the fire and onto the face of this louse.

There comes a time when retreat is the best option and as in this case, the only option.

Sometimes some people think that by being obnoxious, people will get scared or worried and do what they want. I've seen it. People think pitching a fit, even when wrong, will get them what they want. Usually, when I see it, it gets them a good internal laugh from me, lol.

Seems that from many of the reports here this tactic has indeed worked in the past.

Perhaps the staff reaction in this particular situation is a harbinger of things to come.

We can only wait and hope.

Morph, please keep us apprised of any future incidents you observe.

Happy Sailing!!!🌟

I just know that this next story is going to 'warm the cockles of your hearts'. Chitchatting with the parties involved. We heard the tale of a YC couple that tried to get their friends (who do not reside in the YC) to join them for our Gala lobster dinner in the YC Restaurant last night. First and most audacious infraction is they snuck their friends in one of the decks that does not pass the concierge station (18 or 19) and at 9:20 pm, 10 minutes before closing time 9:30 pm. They were refused seating and graciously suggested the Market Place buffet. A scene was made and they were directed to see the concierge. The concierge also refused the dinner party. Things are tightening up?

On Celebrity passengers sailing in a Suite can invited others to join them in the Suite dining room, provided there is space available, by paying a fee for their guest.  Am I safe to assume that this is not permitted on MSC and that is why they were trying to sneak their friends in versus making arrangements with the maitre'd to pay from their friends to join them?

I asked several crew working out on deck this morning about when the Infinity bridge would be fixed. They had no idea. Then I stopped a gentleman in a white jump suit the same question. His answer got us one step closer to the 'why' no repair but still no 'when'.

It appears that the ship is waiting for shoreside technicians from the warrantee company to do the repairs. The glass panels are under this warrantee, and the ship technicians can not touch them for fear of voiding the warrantee.

Wow. It's been months. Also, not sure if it's a big job that needs to be done. I was just thinking about the time limitation given that the ship is in and out for next sailings.

Are there any updates on the elevators? Still long waits for non-YC guests

And, have they fixed that damaged elevator panel for selecting the floor that you want?

Thanks!

Do not really know. Found that everything depends on the backbone of the YC director and Maitre ‘d.
With the upgrades and bidding process, casino perk giving access to outsiders and friends and family of officers the line must be drawn because service deteriorates in the restaurant. More than once the YC has had to take waiters away from the MDRs to make sure service doesn’t  suffer in the Yacht Club with all these authorized entrants.

Yes that group of 14 threaten the YC director with going to the Hotel Director. This very genial, popular YC director left the Seascape and ‘heard’ he will never work in the Caribbean market again. Whether his decision was due to this group is highly unlikely. But is the behavior of this market entirely coincidental?

Morpheus, I shared your reportage with my wife and she was 'pleased as Punch' about it.

Please let those in the trenches know we appreciate their firmness in the face of these incursions. Also, if he is still aboard, please extend our salutations to Arthur (He took excellent care of us in March). Just tell him the 'Tall Tuxedo' and his wife, a.k.a. Mr. & Mrs. sorbet intermezzo, say, "Hello and best wishes!"

Wanted to see what all the fuss was about in the Market Place Buffet for late night snacks. this 24 second video shows everything left to eat at 10:30 this evening. I was at the end of the line just videoing and tried to capture the pizza in the background around the corner in the last frames.

Before the pandemic and before up bids were offered, I remember asking a concierge at the YC desk what the rule was about non YC guests being invited to eat in the YC restaurant.

I was told that this was only permitted when YC was not at max capacity and the fee was  $110 per person (if memory serves me right). Not sure if this is still an option.

I think you're right, but I bet it works most of the time. Most of us are restrained by trained manners and dignity,  those that have managed to move past those outdated concepts get their own way more often than not by these displays.

We were present on board the Seascape and witnessed another incident between a male passenger and this very popular YC Director At the OnePool deck. The YC Director was accosted and a famous retired Miami police captain stepped in with his police officer son to aid "his brother" the YC Director from an impending physical assault by this passenger. Did not find out the cause, just that it shook up the YC director having to deal with this 'type' of passenger. Nothing happened to the passenger. Security was not called.

Why on earth would someone decide to "make a scene" when they are clearly way out of bounds?

Because they were not brought up with manners. This is what we get when upgrades are given out too cheaply. They are what Mr. Aronson of Carnival calls "the wider audience" attracted to cruising by lower prices.

Not too impressive! Sad! Hope the pizzas look better than the duplication of desserts on mostly empty trays @morpheusofthesea sorry for the double post.

What are you expecting at 10:30 PM?

MSC tries hard to keep food waste as low as possible. A full buffet spread that late in the evening would just result in loads of thrown out food.

a little more diversity and more food on the trays. If you like chocolate cake and bread pudding, swell! you're in luck.

@morpheusofthesea what time  do they remove the hors-d'oeuvres in Top Sail?

Don't know. It is past my bedtime. (actually I am already in my jammies having chocolate trying to upload to CC). I'm not one to run around the Yacht Club in a bathrobe  late at night searching for more CC content. It might turn out that I might become "that creepy guy in a bathrobe" wandering the TSL looking for something to eat.

But as long as there is a butler present they have been known to go into the backroom and find something. I did once ask for chocolates that were not on display.

Arthur stopped by the table this morning and I asked if he remembered a tall, dark, handsome well dressed gentleman, a fellow CC compatriot. Then I had to go into more detail. "sorbet intermezzo"... pause...then I recalled you wrote about your 5 tuxedos, and mentioned he would have been finely attired in tuxedos... well that struck a bell ! Yes the gentleman and his wife were finely attired for EVERY meal. He detailed his preferences and always a shrimp cocktail.

You do 'cut a fine swath' wherever you go.
