Hotel & transportation to Heathrow

 Share

Recommended Posts

We have booked the Premier Inn on Bath Rd near Heathrow.  We are a couple traveling with a friend.  We will be returning home from Terminal 3 whereas our friend will be returning home from Terminal 2.  Are we able to book a taxi for all of us to go to the two different locations or possibly a private transfer company?  Not sure how it works nor how close the two terminals are and if  we can all get off at the same place.

Also does anyone know about how much it costs?

Thanks for any help.

We booked British Express cars for 4 of us.

About $280 for 4 (I believe we booked a van to be sure we had enough room for luggage...and a car could be cozy for 4)

They are dropping one couple at airport & us at LHR Staybridge Suites.

Jayride is another option I just saw on rideguru.

It gets decent reviews BUT those are not just for UK...so harder to gauge.

@KKB Thanks for the info but where did you start from?  That would be a lot of money to go from an airport area hotel to the airport.

OH, sorry--from London!!

Yeah, it will be nominal to call a cab from an LHR hotel to LHR.

Any idea what range of price might it be from the Premier Inn Terminal 2&3?

This is a guess (as I've never done such a transfer by cab or car), but perhaps somewhere around £25 for a car big enough for all four of you and your luggage, doing a single drop at one terminal. This means paying only one drop-off fee; I think that if the car drops two of you at one terminal and two of you at the other terminal, the £5 fee has to be paid twice.

It won't be "nominal" - but it will be nothing like what you are paying, which is expensive even for a London --> Heathrow trip.

To be sure we get a van it's a fair price for private transport.

DH is quite tall & there are 4 adults; a sedan would be awfully tight for 4 plus luggage.

The website of the "usual suspect" that we use has just returned a quote of £100 for a trip from Victoria station to Heathrow airport in a "large MPV" (stated capacity: 6 passengers, 8 medium bags and 5 hand luggage):

UbLift? (Hint hint)

Can it be booked several days in advance?

It's not a secret. It's Simply Airports - you can see it in the URL of the image. Unlike some other CCers, I don't push it here because frankly there's not a lot of difference between the various usual suspects in this business. This is simply the one that we use - except on the occasion that they were fully booked, when they immediately referred us to another of the usual suspects, which was equally good.

I avoided them with a 2.9 rating.

I looked at a number of car service offerings & $300 for a van was a good deal.

Suggest trying the “ We Know Group” (www.weknowlondon.com) who operate a taxi or shared ride program from Heathrow area hotels to LHR. £7 per person shared or £34 per vehicle private. We used a credit card and booked online at a terminal in the hotel. Cancel more than two hours prior to pick up for a complete refund. Got a confirmation e-mail which stated that another e-mail would be sent 30 minutes prior to pick up time. Another e-mail was sent when the driver was nearing the hotel including Uber-type information (Driver’s name, photo, make of vehicle, registration plate number etc.) A third e-mail was received when the vehicle actually arrived.  It was £14 for two shared. The Hoppa woulda been £12. Very good service and worth a look.
