This doesn't have anything to do with table games but last week on the Crown a lady was playing a slot with $8.80 as the top wager.  Just about everyone in the placed stopped when they announced a jackpot of $187,000 was just won.

Sure enough it was flashing on the machine, the winner was shaking filling out paperwork and they rest of us were staring with our mouths hanging open.

It does happen, not often, but often enough to keep folks coming back for more. My wife frequents the casino(s) and comes out ahead. I don't know how she does it 🤨

I read where the biggest incentive for casinos implementing the 39-space wheel is targeted at the even-money bettors (Red/Black, Odd/Even, 1-18/19-36).  Old odds (on a 38 space wheel) was 18/38 or .4737 whereas the new odds are 18/39 or .4615.  That might seem a small change on an individual bet, but it adds up in volume for the casino.

Casinos and lotteries get tons of free publicity over and over online, tv, newspapers etc everytime somebody hits a jackpot.  But only a tiny bit of coverage of the billions upon billions lost by people hoping to have lightning strike.

The casinos are also aided by people who constantly lie about how much they win with nary a word about how much they lost.  It is a great business model if you can convince the media to play along...and play along they do.

That decrease occurs for ALL bets. The odds on a single-number bet change from 0.0263 to 0.0256. It's about a 2.6% decrease.

I've seen this recently on the Crown and Regal, I've sworn off triple zero roulette.  I did find on both the Crown and Regal an electronic roulette game with only 2 zeros.  Would rather improve my odds a little versus the table game.
