How many gala nights on 7-night cruise?

I'll be on the Koningsdam Nov. 18 cruise. Right now the Navigator shows that every night is smart casual. Is that correct? I thought the 7-night cruises have two gala nights.

On a "normal" 7 day cruise there are two.

Yes, probably 2.  We had the same experience last April- Navigator claimed smart casual every night, but once on the ship it became 2 dressy nights.  We board Koningsdam right after you - 11/25.  Ours is a 10 night, I am thinking there will be 3 dressy nights for us.  Enjoy your cruise & keep the ship in good shape for us- LOL

Keep in mind there's no such thing as "gala" nights any more.  That was downgraded to "dressy" nights a couple years or so ago.  That said, there will be 2 on a 7-night sailing.

If it is the standard Mexican Rivera 7 day, the dressy nights should be the 19th and the 23rd.

Also keep in mind as wdw1972 says they are now "dressy" nights.  And the dress code has relaxed quite a bit.  Hubby got by with a nice button down & slacks, while I wore slacks or nice dress.

Is it true that the Mexican (Sea of Cortez) cruises are even less dressy than Caribbean?  I enjoy dressing up a bit, but hubby prefers more casual.

My our experience, maybe a little, but it doesn't matter. Wear what you want to wear.

Based on our observations on our recent Zuiderdam back to back out of Quebec: None.

My guestimate on the two cruises is that perhaps as many as 10 % of the gentleman wore ties let alone jackets.

We have never experienced as casual a cruise as this B2B.
