Has anyone purchased a Black Friday deal from HAL in the past?  Was it any good?

I have used them in the past.  It is a matter of adding it all up and seeing if it works for you.  I like that HAL lets me re-fare with any sale up to final payment

I did last year for the cruise I just took this month and IMO got a great deal.  Basically it added a Crew Appreciation fee and a bit lower pricing, but since it was combinable with other perks I was able to use a casino discount, stockholder credit, the HIA package, FCD bonus, Thank you for Sailing credit, Mariner Society early booking bonus and even a Freeplay offer from the casino.  Plus, being this was almost a year ahead of time, we got a great cabin location.  And this was on a cancelable fare.

 

Looking forward to the upcoming Black Friday deal!

We did, sort of.....

 

During Black Friday last year we were able to "refare" our October 2023 cruise to include a slightly lower fare and added "included gratuities".....Our OBC from the original booking somehow remained.

 

We have our pencils sharpened and remain hopeful....and if not, wave season will follow shortly.

How did you get a Black Friday sale price on a Casino booking?

It was just the casino discount, which varies from 10-30%, not the free cabin deal.  The discounted ones normally are combinable, the free cabin not.

Seem like your mileage varies with HAL.  My TA did a reprice and got me the reduced fare as an OBC.  Great.  They said no when she called back to see about the prepaid gratuities, as they said they already gave me a discount.  And, for some reason, a credit was showing as a future cruise credit of $100  all along.

It is weird what HAL does.  I just happened to pay down a bit on a cruise today with gift cards and when I got my updated invoice they had added OBC. Earlier this month we re-fared to capture the air credit and they went way beyond that even though there was absolutely no room rate change.  I am certainly not complaining but it is hard to determine when to spend your efforts on which sales

I just rebooked to get the Black Friday deal. Slightly lower cruise fare ($100 less), but got more OBC ($225) plus the included gratuities, which for my 13 night cruise saved me more than $200.  So a total net positive of more than $500. While not massive, it was definitely worth it to me.

Last week on November 15 I re-booked my b2b due to a decrease in price.  On Saturday I noticed that Black Friday was giving the free crew appreciation promo.  I contacted my PCC and she re-fared my cruises and gave me the promo.  I have been able to save $600.00 Canadian which I am very, very happy about.

 

When I re-booked I got the refundable $99.00 deposit promo but lost it in the re-fare.  I was told that I would also lose 1 of the 2 $100 shore excursion promos on each cruise BUT when I got the confirmations I still had them on both cruises.
