Live B2B2B2B From the Carnival Magic 11/26-12/22

Dinner was very good again tonight. The only new item for me was the vegetable wellington which was delicious. So many great choices on this first night.

Service I would expect to be a little slower with two people than when I dine solo. Even still, it dragged on a little long with long gaps in between courses.

Formulating a plan for the night. If M gets sucked into the casino, I am probably going to head to the piano bar until the comedy show tonight which will be in the main theater. If I can get her out, I think we will probably do the rockband as that was what she seemed most interested in.

@jam19872016 obviously potentially concerning and yet, I don't know how it can be avoided. These are mass market vacation products and Carnival is the massest of 'em all. Occasionally someone who doesn't know how to behave in public is going to buy a ticket.  I can't afford Mustique and in fact didn't even know it existed until about 2 years ago, but I imagine that is the kind of Caribbean place you go if you need a riffraff-free money-back guarantee.  Good to hear it was not anything seriously impacting other passengers.

And then I watch "Below Deck" and see passengers act like idiots and they have paid $100,000 for three days on a luxury yacht.  I think people have lost their sense of respect for others overall since Covid. I think the ones at Mustique will have their share of idiots as well.  Ugh.

I think I may have dreamed this but can someone verify if Magic has the gelato station in the Lido buffet area? If not there, where is it located? Thanks!

There is Gelato at the coffee bar, but it is not included. That is on Vista and Excel class only. I'll find out the cost tomorrow and let you know.

Very small diamond group on this week as we will have the intimate gathering in the piano bar instead of a full lunch.

I'm cool with that, but the time is at 1130 instead of noon. I'd love am extra half hour of sleep.

Not sure if M will make it but I'm setting an alarm just in case.

It's past 230 which is way past my bedtime so I'm going to bed.

Goodnight everyone.

Another Carnival ship rescued 6 sailors from a capsized vessel this week as well.  We need someone with insider experience probably to help explain what happens when non-US nationals are pulled out of international waters and set down on our border-controlled shores in emergency rescue situations, but here again I would imagine it throws a bit of a wrench into the works landside.

I cannot answer your question about the process, but I did hear the captain’s announcements on the Vista.

We slept through the rescue of six people and found out about it when the captain made an announcement the next morning. We noticed a security guard sitting outside the cabin two doors down from us, and found out from our/their steward that there were three of the rescued people in that cabin and the other three were on the other side of the ship, on the same deck. The Captain later announced that the “other six” people had been rescued by the Coast Guard. When we left our cabin yesterday morning at 7:40 to debark, there were three people who appeared to be a staff member, a security guard, and a uniformed policeman standing at the cabin door.  It was well after self-assist had started, so apparently they were not taken off the ship before the passengers could leave.

I bet after three Diamond lunches you are fine with an intimate gathering but if this was my one and only cruise I'd be disappointed that there was no lunch.
