Can on board credit be used for excursions and dinner in specialty restaurants?

Also for upgrading or purchasing wi-fi or beverage packages, purchases in shops, spa services, fitness classes, daily gratuities; most anything you purchase through the Cruise Planner or on the ship.

Because this gets asked so often I've compiled a list of things to spend OBC on. One thing I know of now that you CAN'T buy with OBC is a deposit on a Future Cruise. You need a credit card for that.  Also, there may be some card game in the casino with a cash only buy-in.   And if they do a fundraiser, like selling t-shirts to “save the reefs” and the like, expect to need cash for that.  Otherwise, here you go:

*Corkage charged if you bring your own bottles of wine to the MDR

*Gift shop souvenirs, purses, watches, cosmetics, clothing, jewelry, etc.

They will always use non-refundable OBC first,  then refundable OBC, And if you run out of that then it goes on your credit card

Yes and gratuities are removed automatically. Using non refundable OBC first.

Daily. You can check your account on your stateroom TV to see any activity charged.

Any OBC is posted as a credit to your onboard account.   Gratuities (if not prepaid) are debited from you account daily.   Generally they take 2 days on the second day (1st and 2nd) and 2 days on the next to last day.

 

All debits to your onboard account are first taken from non refundable OBC, then refundable OBC, then will be charged to your credit card.
