what happens if one person in the room needs to cancel due to illness and the other still wants to go.  Will she get a refund and will the person who goes have to pay for two people?  final payment has already been. made.

If the person who cancels has insurance, they should file a claim with insurance, NCL isn’t refunding them.

The payment is for the room, not per person.  So one person in the room will not be refunded, as the room cost does not change.  You may get some taxes and fees back.

How close are you to the cruise date?  If you cancel after the 120 days final payment date, you will not be getting a full refund and it depends on how close to the cruise date on how much it is.  It might be best if you work out a deal with the person to buy out there portion if they are looking for a refund.

Not true.  There is a tiered refund amount after the final payment date.

With the schedule I posted above, if your travel partner is dead set on getting a refund, it might be better to figure out what the refund would be and just pay them that amount.  Probably be cheaper than losing both fares and then having to pay the single supplement.

If you are before final payment, it is a cancel and rebook. If it is after final payment, the person not going loses part/all of their cruise fare as a penalty.
