That's pretty close to the $100 pp per meal in a restaurant at home. Happy Cruising & Holidays! I am quite sure that RCI is not spending anywhere near that to feed any of us for the entire day.... maybe not even for a week.

It's not quite as simple as $300/pp/day = $100/meal/pp.

It was reported on another thread that Royal spends about $17 per person, per day on food. Not just the evening meal, that is all meals. Much cheaper cuts and tougher meats.

Did they have HP Sauce & Malt Vinegar? The only thing I see missing is the newspaper it is normally wrapped in. LOL If it is advertised as a taste of the UK, just look at the composition of the meal you get in the UK vs. this. This stuff made long John silvers look like a high end meal. 1

People are saying that spending over $100 for a meal in their local restaurant is normal. I am trying to point out that you are getting: 'So...you only count food as the cost of the cruise? What about the stateroom? The entertainment? It's not quite as simple as $300/pp/day = $100/meal/pp.' Thank you for helping me explain the total cost. Presentation is not something these cruise lines worry about. Do you ever watch how some people eat. With their fingers, stuff their mouths full and almost choke on it. Do we think that we are not getting our money's worth? If we do, why do we continue to cruise? Do we think that we could serve 3 meals a day like the ships do and only spend that amount? If we do, why are we complaining about the economy and the price of food, regardless of where we live. LOL Happy Holidays!

Highly recommend smart wheels car rental for Curaçao. We did have some trouble on the way back and pushed it a little closer than I would have liked to. It was a blast. Edited December 23, 2023 by Dan83

There were quite a lot of people dressed nicely on those nights. I think it was because of the number of families onboard, wanting nice Christmas photos. We did get our two free photos. And I was remarking about always getting digital prints for our free ones. Not so this time, just prints.
Rare h20skibum Posted December 23, 2023 Author #469 Share Posted December 23, 2023 That nice, 74m superyacht tied up next to us is owned by Mark Scheinberg. It is supposedly worth $100 million.
Rare h20skibum Posted December 23, 2023 Author #470 Share Posted December 23, 2023 We haven’t been to Nassau since the port was rebuilt. It is so much nicer than the old one. Rare h20skibum Posted December 23, 2023 Author #471 Share Posted December 23, 2023 We did our own walking tour around Nassau. First stop was the British Colonial, where Bond scenes in Never Say Never Again were filmed. We stopped by Margaritaville Resort to check it out as a possibility for August when we are here. Then checked out the beach and Tiki bar
Rare h20skibum Posted December 23, 2023 Author #472 Share Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) We found umbrella street, which is similar to what they do in San Juan. No visit is complete without visiting a rum distillery rum casks and more Sampling some is always a good idea.
