Taxi at Tampa Cruise Port

Are there usually taxis lined up at the Tampa Cruise port and how much to TPA?

 

Are there any better ways to get to the airport after a cruise?

 

We have a very late flight so no rush.

Not sure about how many taxis......but Uber or Lyft shouldn't be easy to get in Tampa.

Last time we were in tampa there were several shuttle vans taking folks to the airport.  Cannot remember any names, sorry.

We used a shuttle. Big signs when you exit you can't miss them. We paid $10.00pp cash from port to TPA. We were one of the first on and it filled up quickly and we were on our way. More shuttles were lined up right behind us.

Yes, use one of the shuttles. Cheaper than a taxi.

Taxis are usually waiting.  Fare to TPA was about $25 on the meter a couple of years ago.  Uber/Lyft should save you a few bucks.  There are vans waiting but they charge per passenger - if there are 3+ in your group a cab will be a better deal. The ride to TPA only takes about 15+ minutes - if you have a late flight look at an excursion or visit the nearby aquarium (they should hold your bags).

Before Covid we used a Uber to the airport with no problem.   We had a late flight and at that time you could walk over to the The Fl Aquarium and they would hold your luggage while you visited the aquarium.  We had planned to go to the aquarium and then head to the airport. Unfortunately the ship was hours late unloading and we had to change plans and head right to the airport.   We had just enough time to eat a meal and head to our flight.  We were very fortunate to have a late flight.   Many cruisers missed their afternoon flights that day.
